The galaxy s looked better playing Avatar, but i actually think the iphone looks slightly better on this video. Both are great though, both have plus & minus points, and whichever you buy i'm sure you'll be very happy with you purchase.

play this on 1080p (if your monitor supports it) and pause at 0:12 sec, look at the bin next to the monster, on the vibrant you can clearly see the bolts, and on the iphone you cant...not just that, the fur on the blue monster look better, and blacks look darker, vibrant IS the clear winner here, sorry iphone fan boys lol

U can go back a few pages and check out my pause marks for what I'm talking about. I'm not an iPhone fan boy. I got Android. I'm Android ride or die right now.

But the iPhone screen is better for sharpness vs. Amoled. It just depends on what you prefer. Some prefer the "vibrant" colors (it could be called over saturated) of Amoled. Some prefer the sharpness of LCD.

iPhone 4 screen is way better. Much higher pixel density and way better colors. And It has in plane switching (colors don't change if you look at it from a different angle). But the vibrant is a lot bigger and brighter.

I would probably go with the iPhone.

@SmellsLikeUpDawgg Higher resolution, yes. Colors, no. The TFT-IPS-LCD will never have the number of colors or the production of colors that an AMOLED screen of the same year will. And the S-AMOLED screen has much darker blacks, higher contrast ratio, higher refresh rate, no back-lighting, which is why the Iphone screen is so bad at blacks and darker colors...higher resolution isn't a very impressive spec when every other spec is inferior.

And it seems that this user is smart to pick a movie with an aspect ratio of 3:2 which do not suffer from side cuts. Most of the downloadable movie files are wide screen and if you try playing wide screen on ip4 see how it goes. Please do not give the bull xxxx that you can convert the files to suit ip4, who has time to convert a few gb worth of data anyway. You can however dump the original downloaded mkv ,avi,mp4 or watever video files with 16:9 aspect ratio and play on Galaxy S straight away.

Please do not play non mkv files on vibrant, it is retarded. Converting again from dvd ripped mkv files only make the video lose out more of it's details. lol at this fandroids declaring their beloved samsung galaxy is the winner. U cannot tell the best overall quality of the screens by just looking at it as it needs some test to back it up. I think u should check gizmodo's article titled "smartphone shootout" when Displaymate's Dr. Raymon Soneira compares displays of the iphone 4, galaxy s, droid x and nexus one.

Talking about details huh....I own the Droid 1 and X, I never used an iPhone before...

:0-:3 mark, the back window. More detail on the iPhone 4.....

:0-:9 mark, more fur detail on the iPhone 4. More face, chin detail on the iPhone

The left side of Sully's face blends in with his body, it doesnt on the iPhone

Some ppl like Amoled, some like LCD. There is no clear cut best screen. And that from looking at it in 360p, 480p, 720p, and 1080p. (I have a 1080p monitor.)

@ 0:30 second's into the video you can see that even though the retina display has a higher pixel per inch it still cannot display the detail that the galaxy super aamoled screen can pause 30 seconds into the video and look at the orange monster.

Also looking at that :30 mark, look at the yellow border around that grey box. U can see the edges around the yellow border on the iPhone 4...

Im using samsung vibrant ( rooted with lag fix )

Samsung vibrant hands down winner in all category as its super fast in opening any website like a quadcore pc then the color is superb & the camera and video is the best.

What i like from iphone has facetime & lots of games... thats it!!!

Contrast ratio is what kills on the Vibrant. It's easy to see the difference when there are dark scenes. For example look at the background / wall @ 0:58. Notice how you can actually see the numbers on the wall on the Vibrant. Awesome screen, on YouTube it still doesn't do it justice, you have to see it in person :-)
