I love this song. It really speaks to me cause I'm a pastor's kid and a lot of people think that pastor's kids are perfect. It really gets to me when they say that because I've made so many bad mistakes in my life that I regret, and I know that I'm far from perfect. I sang this in my school talent show two years ago hoping that singing that would show them that I know I'm not perfect, maybe it would help them stop. It kinda worked lol. But I let them all know what I stood for that day. <3

Praise God! I'm amazed that there are so many atheist turned Christian:) One of my best friend's was an atheist, and I tried for the longest to explain to her about God. She didn't want to listen she told me that she doesn't believe in anything like that unless there's proof. It broke my heart, and I realized you can't change someone that doesn't want to be changed. So, this song really hit home. I pray for her so much. But, she decided she doesn't wanna be friends anymore.

I have been through alot in my life and i know I am not perfect but it doesnt stop me form trying to be. But the harder we try to be perfect and shut everyone out and feel as though we are not loved when we are at our true breaking point that is when God shows us that he is there and that he does care. I believe the words are "never let 'em see you ..." Not "never let him... " I believe him would lead us to believe she's singing about a certain person whereas "em", a shortened version of "them" refers to the rest of the world. Too many of us put up a false front when people ask how are we doing, but also too many ask that question without really wanting us to give them an honest answer.

This song is so me. I'm that person who is always trying to be perfect. 99% isn't good enough. 100% when there was a bonus question? Not good enough. I'm never perfect enough to please myself. I kinda hate this song for telling me this, actually. I mean, I get mad at myself if I use the wrong alternate fingering for clarinet in band. And I expect everyone else to be perfect. I'm not a Christian, I can't face up for my mistakes. Can't. My mistakes are big, ugly, and stupid that I can't.

I used to try to be that person, too, andreakate. It doesn't work-- no matter how hard you try. I finally accepted that I am human; and I found that a lot of people are. he he. Give yourself some grace, honey. People will respect you more for your honesty than your perfection~ or your attempts at it, b/c noone can relate to perfection... except Christ, of course.

Alot of people think they're not good enough for love, atleast love as great as God. If they only knew how much He just wants you to live FREELY, and how much He loves them.. there's no amount of sin that could stop Him from changing you from the inside out, He loves us....Soo Much. I honsetly wouldn't want a perfect life, cause if I did i wouldn't need the Best Thing that could ever happen to me... God<3

We dont have to be perfect because the righteousness of Christ was credited to our deficient account praise God! But we are supposed to follow in the footsteps of Christ. i love this song. i think as humans we naturally think we need to be perfect or the best. but if only half those people knew that theres no such thing as perfect except for god they wouldnt try to strive for something that doesnt exist unless you are god. i thank him for giving us so much grace as sinners. god bless:)

@rainydays1301 I love this testimony!!! I am so very thankful for our Lord who opened your eyes to see the TRUTH. And I agree with what you say. A simile I use to compare God to is the wind. You can't physically see the wind, but you can see its path through trees and people (and their hair) and you can FEEL it, just like with God. God's path is seen throughout the world and you can also feel him and he is here with us right now!!

God surprises you in the most difficult moments, even when you think it is the end, unexpectedly like the Heroe He is, saves the day and blessed me with the love of my life and open both our eyes because my fiance now knows that there is a God and he has changed our lives tremendously. God does exist him and I are living proof of it. And so r u. :)

I love this song, because it feels like its telling my own story... I was trying so hard to be "perfect" , the first paragraph of the song, was totally me. But the real thing is there is no need to try to be perfect (which of course I'm not), but just be me, that's good enough for God, he loves me like this, and that is such a relief...
It seems easy to do, but to accept you can't do it on your own, that you are broken & poor... to humble yourself to God is the bravest thing to do. And I did

You said it all ! It is not easy to do at all, but I am glad that I am forgiven and loved ! The lyrics to this song are awesome, I was coming home one day and heard this on the radio and went home and looked it up. To listen to this helps me understand and try harder each day.

I think this song is about people who think they are all alone in their pain. But the song is trying to point out that no one has a perfect life so you aren't alone. Cry out to God and He will heal you cause He is perfect.

I really don't see what is so hard to understand. I guess everyone listens to a song and hears different things.
What this songs means to me personally, is that people are not perfect and once we decided to walk with the Lord(who is perfect) then we are changed. We will never be perfect, but we are to try our best everyday of life to live according to the example we were given(Jesus Christ).

I really like this song, the lyrics are perplexing though because when we are saved we are re-created a new creation, behold old things are passed away and all things are become new , I think song could be about those who believe thier goodness is enough to get them into heaven by good works and charity, they are not perfect and will not be able to stand before the perfect GOD without the blood of JESUS cleansing them.

I believe the words are "never let 'em see you ..." Not "never let him... " I believe him would lead us to believe she's singing about a certain person whereas "em", a shortened version of "them" refers to the rest of the world. Too many of us put up a false front when people ask how are we doing, but also too many ask that question without really wanting us to give them an honest answer.

I think it is about how fake people are when thing are going so bad we all smile an say I'm OK. and we do not want to let other people in our worlds! If we are dressed nice, car looks good, everything on the out side, BUT inside is where God can see, that is where she means be changed by a perfect God he is the only one who can fix the inside stuff in our life.
