The US has ALWAYS been about excessive force. In 1945, while re-taking Manila from the Japanese, the US leveled the capital; over and over artillery were fired and bombs dropped in excessive number. This was akin to using armor-piercing ordnance on a pushcart. Perhaps even more. US POWs were more important than local civilians, historical landmarks, or buildings of central governance.

America isnt the only form of democracy. Id argue its one of the best, with its separation of powers, checks and balances, etc etc.
Nevertheless, what do you think wouldve happened had the US not been around to counteract the soviets? I mean, you have studied the cold war right? how communism was spreading on every continent. Im sure countries like france and britain would been able to withstand the pressure.

There's no doubt that the efforts of Americans during the cold war was phenomenal, but what I think was effective then has now been taken too far. With global communication taking a massive leap forward in the past decade, perhaps it is now finally time to look at the underlying issues behind this constant war from a place of understanding as opposed to domination.

The corruption of the country is shameful, especially for a nation so proud of its freedom. It has been, perhaps from the get go, a burgeoning corporatocracy and has all but fully blossomed. The country itself and her citizens are being greatly let down by the governments, who feed them with misinformation and corporate lies.

And the idea that Communism was taking over the world, was very much rooted in a long running propaganda campaign headed by the USA. The USA suffers from an ingrained sense of Exceptionalism, which in today's world, appears bitterly desperate. It's time to shed that delusion and join the world instead of trying to always lord over it.

In Hungary in 2006 there was a speach from the prime minister - which was held between closed walls - that they screwed up everything, they lied to the people, the f*cked up the economy and we only got to know about that because somebody leaked it.
