It sure does look amazing and exciting when you are flying into the city.Airport is a few miles outside in a area called Essington.

It's a shame so many people (working class and middle ) left Philadelphia in droves,especially to areas of nearby New Jersey.

I remember coming back to Philly for a visit in 2004 and the area around city hall looked grimy and run down.

yes it may look run down, thats y u go to center city during the day, besides thats the way it is every1 who is wealthy moves to the suburbs, and even though it may look bad at some parts we still have good people in philly

@kika421 The airport is in Philadelphia,with a little bit of it extending into Tinicum township.Essington is a mile or two south of the airport.

Last time I visit philly was way back in '94.

Seeing my old neighborhood (south philly) from the Google maps, lots has changed since then! In either since, I will visit soon!

i live in richboro ( half hour away), and every time i go to south philly, i cannot stop jumping up for joy. going to mexico in 45 days!!! woohooo!! love philly!!

Having lived in Philly from birth to 15, I enjoy coming back to the city. Going to Geno's, Pat's & Jim's (usualy in the same day), seeing the historic sights & catching a game is fun to me.

I never saw them much as a kid, so seeing the sights as an adult means so much more.

Most people don't apprieciate where they are until they leave it.

I'll always call Philly home.

i used to fly all the time for work and coming home to philly was the best! you take it for granted until your'e away for a long time. you sensed the excitment from the tourists on the flights in. just something about comin in to philly. also brought so many people here for meetings from the west and took em on the circuit - pats & ginos, south st, old city, manyunk, the stadiums, old town. they always loved it and wanted to come back for more. don't be bored theres no other town like it!

@Eaglezfan5 Yes. The city is misrepresented grossly (gets called filthy, trashy, dangerous), and when we went, we found it stunning! We're going back this winter.
