did you find out what was wrong with it cuz my buddy has a 2004 cr 250 and his cr makes that kind of noise to untill he hits like 3rd gear then its not bad
@MattFMF no i never did i sold it but i changed everthing but the cdi box i am pretty sure that is what it is but the problem is, is that it was like $250 so i just sold it for a 2002 rm 125
I have the exact same bike and had the exact same problem, it sounds like its running rich at higher rpm, the cr's were jetted rich from the factory but so putting in a factory jet might not solve your problem, I would try going to a leaner main jet and. Also using high quality synthetic 2 stroke oil helps to because it doesn't put as many carbon deposits on the plug.
It sounds lean to me, the engine is burbling cos its not getting enough fuel at the top end of the rev range, try lowering the clip on the needle and adjust the air screw a bit.
That is a jetting issue. my kx 100 is doing the same. Its getting too much fuel, Start the bike and turn off the fuel. as the fuel gets low in the carb it will start to run properly just before it runs out. If this is the case u gotta adjust you float which is quite easy.
you probably have either a cracked reed valve or a leaky right main seal. That doesnt sound like a jetting problem. Id be interrested to hear what you find
No I would say it sounds to rich same happened to my bike lean it off on the main jet

Call Fmf and ask what jetting you should get for your specific bike with the exhaust system you have on it.
