horiyoshi is world reknown weather it takes 2 weeks or 2 years to complete tattoos of large scale require dedication, meditation, anyone who is getting tattooed by horiyoshi is either a true collector, fellow tattoo artist or possible yakuza, its not like hes doing 18 year old girls little stars..hes a grand master, good tattoos arent cheap and cheap tattoos arent good..
faaaack looks so rough .. like just raaaaking that shit in there .. but im sure it looks great , for sure .. definitely a sweet ink session but fuuuuck .. pain
I don't think so, Horiyoshi lll does not take new clients anymore! he has five years of tattooing (or more) still to go, just to finish his work in progress...
@dodocrest These tattoos can take months to years of weekly sessions to get done. Its not like going into the shop and getting it done. Traditional tattooing is a very long process.
it's not about the price when it comes to tattoo...it's about paying for skills, experience, and being able to get it done right.
as a tattoo shop owner and artist...it takes us years of hard work and money to learn the skills and there is no price tag to it. The money is mainly to help pay for our living expenses...but art is our passion.
like a car, they all drive the same but a BMW or ferrari feels better, look and perform better than a ford.
@taypain see how beautifully the orange and yellow blend and fade together? tebori allows the artist to create gradient that is extremely difficult to do with machine. tebori allows colors can to form almost 3-D-like showdows and stunning details.
@ddelfao the pain never goes away, it hurts the entire time thru. Its constant (Except when he dips)...And strangely mine did not even remotely bleed except for one small spot..
wow - if you don't mind me asking, how hard is it to get the appointment, and how expensive? and in comparison to a contemporary western tattoo, how painful?
@RevolutionaryWind Yes he is but he only works about an hour and a half each session so it could take a loooong time to finish. It also takes a while to get a appointment
