That was amazing. Rick Wright will never be dead, as every time we play his beautiful compositions, he will live in the hearts of every fan of classic and progressive rock. I especially liked it when you played Echoes and Cluster One
@TylerDz1701 Thank you very much again. Indeed. I'm glad you liked my Cluster One version, it's a very particular and essential piece. About Echoes, probably I played it too fast.
I know they got along better in the end at LIVE8,but Roger was wrong in kicking him out of the band in 1981.Roger's solo stuff was good but needed Dave Nick and Rick to accompany it.Without Rick ,Animals wouldnt have been as good musically and with Rick the Final Cut would have sounded better.Roger is brilliant lyrically.Dave and Rick are brilliant musically.Nick is good rhythmically (i.e Paintbox) and conceptually(Speak to Me).Why did Roger have to be such a Diva(o) at times?
man this is one of the most beautiful videos ive ever seen on youtube it brought a tear to my eye thinking about richard. thank you so much for this. shine on my friend
Look, I know in the description you say not to ask you for music, but let me explain one thing. I have 3 pink floyd piano sheet music books. They aren't nearly as beautiful or complex as what you're playing here, and I can't find ANY better alternatives online. I'd like to be able to play this entire medley if there was sheet music for it. Please let me know how to get a hold of better sheet music. I assume you have some and it's not all played by ear? This video is incredible.
@urbania70 Well I'd be happy with even a copy of that transcription, but it's up to you. Have you ever planned to make sheet music for the whole thing? It would be a shame not to spread this piece of art. Like I said, it's wonderfully played.
@ErikFlody I'm not sure I want to share a personal draft, it's more a set of personal memos. Transcribing all in a readable form would request much time, sorry
Thank you so much for sharing this. I needed to hear something beautiful to lift my spirits. You play with this wonderful music with great taste and sensitivity
AMAZING!! It was great to hear just the Keyboard part. Your talent covering the talent of Richard Wright shows the world both of yours' ability to bring forth a force of emotion and creativity that is rare! Thank you!
@urbania70 purtroppo no.. :( nel dvd speciale su "dark side of the moon" Wright spiega proprio questo passaggio, ovvero i tre accordi che precedono la frase "breathe, breathe in the air" :)
Man this is Awesome ...... And like every time i listen to the Great gig in the sky i can not control my tears ...... and When you know the rick is gone ..... you just want to Cry .... thank you and thanks Richard wright who is my beloved Artist .... and i miss him so much
rick was one of the greatest musicians in the world, one person that should had never died. his songs produce feeling that cannot be explained by words. thank you and congratulations for keeping him alive
Absolutely fantastic! You should be famous. American Idol and grunge sucks! Rik Wrights piano/keyboard style was truely unique and my favorite style of any pianist. His piano brought more emotion and power than anything else in Pink Floyds songs. I cannot stand the Wall or the Final Cut because Wright is not there. Long Live Wright!
Echoes is my favorite..... Rick is mostly remembered as a pianist, but its important to remember he really was quite a great singer as well. His voice was very distinct, and uniquely amazing. (Also love bit of SOYCD at the end. Very good way to end it.)
@Locksmithj0e Thank you very much - I'm just an appreciator and Rick Wright was just a musician. The trick here, overall on "Gig" and "Us&Them", is a detailed reproduction of details of Rick's style, like note accents. He did few notes but well thought, a bit like Miles Davis did with trumpet in jazz.
It is American Humor. It is a reflection on your very impressive video. I enjoyed it VERY MUCH!!!!!! You are very talented and I thank you for taking the time to learn these peices and put together such a wonderfull mixture.
@satdf2 #LOL there's always something to learn about the subtleties of American language. Thank you very much. I get comments here at same rhythm of 2 years ago, which is a sign that Rick is not forgotten.
Giorgio - You really did an outstanding job on this tribute. It literally brought a tear to my eye in several places in this medley. I can only imagine that Mr. Wright would be quite pleased with this performance. Thank you for putting forth the time and hard work that obviously went into making this.
@armedmo1 Thank you for your comment to this and other videos of mine. Yes, it has been a bit of long job, starting by writing on paper various trials for the medley's setlist in order to find the most compatible tempos and keys and an appropriate rock/slow alternance.
@breakthroughpfs Grazie mille.
