  • very helpful thank you

  • Great video with easy instructions, thanks

  • Just used this vid to fix a washer in my bathroom.

only thing is, those valves are so tight, the tap moves with the valve.

Hold the tap real tight, then use some muscle to unscrew the valve, thus giving you acces to the rubber seal.

    phew, job done.

  • Great simple video and easy to follow - well done!

  • Really helpful, thanks.

  • Thanks mate, that was seriously helpful from a bloke who didn't have a clue and managed to get the job done !!

    Cheers

    Keith

  • handy if you have a really bad memory aye but thanks.

  • What happens if it's a hot tap? How do you turn off the water ... drain down the whole hot water system? Some advice would have been helpful. Otherwise good stuff.

  • So.......is the lady with the make up, in the evening dress about to change a washer in a tap.........nope, I think not!, any chance you could lose the bloody irritating bimbo adverts please?, otherwise, job done, thanks.

  • thanks for posting this video, very informative!

  • Thanks, great video for a muppet like me!

  • As someone who has never attempted this kind of fix before I have to say this is really helpful. In fact the problem with the tap wasn't the washer, but using a bit of common sense along with the stuff in the video I made an easy repair in the end.

  • And in the real world....

    1. find tools, .............mate hasn't returned them from 2 years ago ! go get em .

    2. Go to turn off water..........stop cock siezed, isolate from outside.

    3. Don't use huge fucking screwdriver to lift off and destroy tap cap.

    4. Headgear corroded solid to spindle....think of way to remove without destroying gear and or basin.

5.headgear destroyed...send wife for new tops.

    6 . etc etc etc.

  • @supersesqui "Headgear corroded solid to spindle"

Yeah, That's the part that got me... Looks like some wank spanner mangled it before I got the chance to.

  • pretty fly for a whiteguy!

  • "an hour or so??" but this took two minutes :s

  • If you want to get the Tap headgear off easy, have a look for the new , Easy Tapsplitter, video, or visit ABDtools.eu - Dont forget most headnuts wont unscrew without a huge battle!

  • yes - 50 euro call out fee saved - thanks a million x

  • It certainly is easy to follow. Though how do I take the head gear off if there is no decorative cover to take off with a flat head? It looks like you have to pull the gear off though how without damaging the components. I'm a little stuck? Please help

  • Thank you very much Homeserve! I tried looking at some written info on a webpage, but it doesn't really give the full picture until you "see" on the video on how it is done. Well done!

  • thanks this stopped my pipes from rattling in the most used bathroom in my home.

  • From a complete novice, thankyou.

  • Just a brief note in response to your very well presented help video.

    .

I was unable to turn any thing clockwise or anit clockwise, after I removed the little screw form the top.

    .

too too hard turn either way, I had a good tool and I even sprayed on some WD40, still impossible.

    ?
