  • If this is how you play, why by a vibe pedal?

  • daaaaamn,u r the bestest

  • the fuzz and voodoo vibe sound terrible together

  • i hate gibsons. =/

  • @Metall1cafan1987

    i hate ginsons lol

  • Is that an american standard? if so, i have exactly the same ;)

    Great playing!

  • its a mexican. but you also posted that comment half a year ago, why am i commenting back... i do not know.

  • Mean jam bro!!!

  • If you dont like a Fender something is wrong with you.

Ill take Paul Reed Smith over Gibson.

  • i know someone like that. if you don't like a gibson you've never payed one. : D i respect all the fender lovers though, they really are nice. even the squiers.

  • fuck yea

  • both gibson and fender are great. they each sound different and play differently enough that you can't make a comparison.

  • How can anyone hate Fenders i love the Telecaster!

Actually i really like all the classic makes of guitar Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbaker etc..

I think it's because they all have a very distictive sound about them even when just pugged straight into an amp..

You lose a lot of the tone in modern guitars from the amount of wood they cut out for weight relief, floyd rose trems & having a thin neck like a lollipop stick..

  • Fenders are played by the best guitarists who ever lived.

  • so are gibsons

  • Ofc... but the more "pro" players played Fender's.... I mean in my the best 3 guitarists ever (in my opinion) played Fenders.

  • For me I prefer gibsons to strats. Les Pauls, 335s, SGs, and firebirds are the greatest.

  • Yeah.. its either one or the other :)

  • its about you what YOU prefer. not your fav rock star.

  • You got ripped off dude. It's a fake. If it were real it would read "Les Paul" not les pual. Kinda like owning a relox watch.

  • hahahaa

  • hello i am looking to replace my current all tube dsl401 amp with a new one. I need something versatile, that will go from chic - good times cleans, to eric johnson -cliffs of dover/gary moore type tones to gritty SRV blues, and all the way up to big low end kick mesa recto type sounds

  • varkunus - sounds good! good luck!

  • i have a boss sd-1 and i just LOVE it

anyone looking for sweeeeet blues tone that also makes any rock solo sound better GET ONE

i but a couple other gain based effects before like the boss overdrive distortion, boss blues driver, and this shity heavy distortion, before so that i can get more drive if i want to with that sweet creamy sound of the sd-1

  • jhockey - it's the best!!

  • Great job! You remiind me of Eric Johnson!

  • JohnnyRockerman - thanks man!!! right on!!

  • butter is smooth, not sweet

  • samuelabib- not the butter i eat :)

  • That was awesome mate! Btw. I'm thinking of buying that amp you got. I got a Gibson Les Paul Classic, and should I buy that amp? Is it amazing?

  • Affern - you'll get a good deal on it, they're pretty old, but if you've got money to spend, buy something else

  • what does the UniVox UniVibe pedal do

  • It is a leslie rotating speaker simulator as far as I know, but I do not own one. This guy in my video is a Roger Mayer voodoo vibe jr., trying to simulate the same effect as far as I know. Cheers!

  • what does the UniVox UniVibe

  • meaty - what do you mean?

  • yea i dont like the super sonic its like the pro sonic but louder lol and it ts is horrible lol i think. i love the deluxe i was so close to getting a bassman but i got a guitar and an amp instead.

  • fo sho, i'll stick with the hot rod :D

  • sometime in the future you should look into getting the Hendrix octave fuzz pedal by dunlop...that particular pedal is the cheapest octave UP pedal you can find. Make your pedalboard the Hendrix board! i have one and i would reccomend it. (:

  • Euphoriaman - Thanks man! I actually built my own, it sounds great!

  • hell yea dude i got the texa red hot rod so i got the vintage celestins

  • yea man that's a sweet one

  • how many hours a day do u practice?

  • funkymonk1982 - too many haha :D

anything i can do while playing the guitar i do it, when i'm on youtube, a guitar is on my lap.. usually amounts to anything between 1 and 5 hours a day. barely a day goes by i don't play it at all.

  • wow... i jst picked up the guitar a month ago, and practice around 4 hours on weekdays and 8-10 hours on weekend days. im a freshman in high school and im getting my first electric guitar, probably a strat, so ill be practicing alot more frequently. what are the chances of me ever being as good as you? :D by the way i loved your cover of castles made of sand.... great song

  • funkymonk - haha well, what makes a good guitar player is not how much they practice, but what they practice. Also, I've played a lot of other instruments which really helped me expand my abilities on the guitar. Study music, and apply it to the guitar, and that'll help immensely!!

  • Yea it depends how you practice one of my friends plays guitar but only practices like 2 or 3 songs for hours but he doesn't get much better.

  • MRJimcoMustache - yep, exactly man :)

  • Yea it depends how you practice one of my friends plays guitar but only practices like 2 or 3 songs for hours but he doesn't get much better.

  • come to St. John's, Newfoundland!

  • if you pay my way and give me nice food to eat!!! haha :D

  • Fender all the way

  • Eddiefan - you got it :D

  • i ask u this a while ago but i forgot. How long have you been playing again?

  • 8 years :D

  • wat amp you running threw?

  • that's a marshall AVT275, but i've sold that and now use a Fender Hot Rod Deville! thanks for checkin it out man- cheers !

  • hahah dude i use a hotrod deluxe. i had a supersonic but i use a lot of bassy tones i like the octavio effects. my favorite solo has it(the stars that play with laughing sams dice) check it out

  • oh yea, that is great man, i know that one fo sho

i know a lot of peeps with the deluxe and also the supersonice, apparently the supersonice is some hot stuff

  • Oh YEAH! Mad style mate, glad your comment could lead me HERE... :D Impressive as anything!

  • hahaha hey dude!! thanks man :)

  • lol sweeter than butter! xD

  • thanks pickle!!!

  • I have thet same strat in blue, it is truly one of the best strats I have ever played.

Great playin man ceap it up

  • thanks man-- yea, the cheap ones sometimes have some hidden beauties!

  • wow dude...you are really good...i hate strats, but i love yours now! aha

  • hahahaha yea i totally know what you mean thanks man

  • Strats are good THEY RULE

  • you are very right haha! they are my axe of choice

  • I AM A FENDER FREAK loL

  • haha GOOD!!!

  • I hope you aren't wasting your time just playing in your room. You have nice feel.

  • hahaha i'm startin to play more in public ;) don't you worry :)

  • Really nice! I have the same guitar too ;-D

keep it up, you're really good. 5 stars all the way!

  • wooooo hoo!! yea strats rule

  • really nice tone awsome

  • sweet zaccyo-- glad you dug it

  • hey nice tone man what channel were you using ? and can you tell me the presets for the channell ? thanks ;)

  • haha i sold this amp, and nothing in life comes easy, including tone :)

  • yeah eric johnson style

  • Quite nice

  • thanks man!

  • your playing is very good and your sound is awesome

  • thank you very much!

  • Great sound, but have parts of this video been sped-up? some of it seems to fast to be belivable..

    Great playing anyway though!

  • hahaha no no none of it is sped-up! thanks for the comments!!

  • where is the music here ?

  • it's about the pedals, not the music! hence the title!

  • Don't make me laugh :

1- it's possible to test effects and play music in the same time (i promise you eh eh)

2- since 0:47, what have you been testing ? Your aptitude to break my ears ? Ok then 10/10. Nor you just play to ear yourself on the neck, but nothing interesting about the pedal and its differents sets.

  • Well I guess I should apologize for not having hours to spend on making the perfect video to upload to YouTube haha, don't take these vids so seriously mang

  • hey man i got a dunlop uni vibe, big muff pi, DS-2 distortion pedal...put the distortions first and ur vibe last, the way u have it set up gives u a synth sound...the way i have it gives me a jimi hendrix sound....very cool.

  • that's actually how i have it goin, they're awesome sounds

  • good playing man keep the flame on ok

  • for sure--thanks man

  • plays like a custom shop hey? played a whole lot of custom shops?

  • my dad has one haha

  • Hey I have a question, does you Fuzzface have an adapter input?

  • nope--and it doesn't take kindly to using a 9V battery to AC plug converter either.

  • you're great. rock on.

  • nice

  • Bad ASS rig man; beautiful tone!

  • thanks man..i keep tryin to work on it :)

  • What pickups are you using in your strat? would you reccomend the SD-1 over something like a Tubescreamer?

  • standard pickups... and it certainly depends on what sound you want to get. what i'd recommend doing is going to a music store and trying em both out. they both have certain characteristics which have different applications.

  • sounds like a good idea! I really need to get a Strat: I owned a squire when i first started playing 10 years ago but it sucked; I want to build my own so bad!!

The SD-1 Seriously has an Eric Johnson tone to it; sounds beautiful!

  • yea the SD-1 is a secksi piece of equipment, and a used one is pretty cheap too :)

  • you rock man, 1993 mexican strats are the way to go

  • helllz ya

  • man how do u like that fuzz face?

i'm thinking about getting it and just want a review

  • it's my favorite pedal in my arsenal for sure. it's incredibly unique and the sound it creates has teeth

  • awesome playing , realy feeling it , super effects!

  • nice. you have very nice tone. how long have you been playing?

by the way, i dunno if im the only one, but ive found that if you use an accoustic simmulator and add distortion at just the right gain/volume, it is very similiar to a fuzz pedal.has anyone else tried this?

  • well it seems that would be true.. i've never tried it.. but acoustic simulators generally make the sound "buzzy" which in conjunction with gain would maybe do it. if it sounds good to you, i say do it.

  • you have the exact same guitar i do; except i have a kill switch.

  • Ok, awesome! Dude you tear it up. Im trying to find the right sound for my rig. I want like a good overdrive. This pedal will be a beast with my rig. Well thanks for the advice, keep rockin. Its great to listen too.

  • Dude, I love the sound that the Fuzz gives you. Do you recommend this pedal? Ive read a lot of reviews for it and people say it isnt that good. Think its a good investment?

  • totally. best weapon in my arsenal. it's the dallas arbiter fuzz face..I think Dunlop makes them now.

  • THe fuzz face is cool, but My personal choice is the roger mayer axis fuzz this is based on the fuzz faces roger modified for jimi hendrix. check my clips see what ya think ??

  • DUDE! That was a BRILLIANT review. I love the way you put on titles onscreen when switching effects!

Keep it up, I loved it! Go Hendrix!

  • haha thanks

  • yeah im hearing alot of cliffs of dover scales in that :)

    good work.

  • haha yes, vox owns.. although to be fair i don't use that pedal in this video

  • Your strat doesn't sound like a "million-bugs-customshop" model... Actually it has a very sterile plastic sound.

Probably you've never heard a truly good strat in your life...

  • i said it "plays" like a million bucks. I agree the sound is 'unique' haha, but if you watch my "killing floor" video, you can see it sounds pretty damn good. As for me never hearing a truly good strat? i can't tell if you're actually serious or just trying to find some way to insult me? i mean, you can't be serious? you'd just have to be really really really stupid, oder misthaufen.

  • And btw I'm not trying to insult you... This conversation is about the GUITAR and not about you.

Your play skills and your pedals are good, but I don't like the guitar.

In the first 20 seconds of this video you can hear the pure clean sound and it really sucks. There are a lot of dead spots at the b- and the high e- string (no sustain).

And as already mentioned, the sound is too sterile for my taste.

  • i don't hear the dead spots?

  • your a jackass.

  • great

  • It sounds like you are an Eric Johnson fan? Nice playing

  • actualy tbh the phaser adds to the solo, the combo with the fuzz face rocks. You gota love that sound, if not, i'll bring jimi back to kick all your doubting asses! hehe

  • My loins are quaking.

  • I like it

  • its not the best sound if your doing a nice solo over a phaser. your a good guitar player i just think you should turn it off, or play stuff that uses phaser over it.

  • its just ok. the phaser ruins it, turn stuff off when you're not using it.

  • I'm not quite sure I understand...the point of this video is to show off the phaser.. why would I turn it off?

  • Oh of course! For some reason I was thinking of the Voodoo labs sparkle drive, so I thought it was another OD box. My bad.

  • Sounds like you have a slight phaser on too, but I didn't see one in your chain. Probably just the way the fuzz sounds...

Pretty cool tone, very edgy though (can be a good or bad thing, depending on who you ask). I have an SD-1 myself...sometimes I love it, other times I hate it.

  • actually the voodoo vibe jr is what you're hearing, it's the first in line of my pedals--the voodoo vibe is a rotating speaker simulator.

  • Yet again we have another guitar player that thinks that quick means good.

  • Eric Johnson regularly plays much faster than anything I ever play--now I'm in no way comparing myself to him, only using him to note that we should be careful before we let speed alone dictate whether or not something sounds good.

  • dude stop with the shred shit it sounds like crap

  • awesome fuzz face man

  • That's cool you found a gem of a MIM Strat. Those things can be hit or miss.

  • well, i have a fender twin reverb and the only thing my fuzz face pretty much cuts the sound (as in like silence) and turns it one, i dont get the fuzz out its also conected along with a morley wah ds-1 distortion and a boss phase shifter

  • well, first make sure that the cords are plugged in the right way, the fuzz face has counter-intuitive inputs. Test all of this only using the fuzz. Unplug everything else. Next check the battery. Third make sure that the guitar is plugged into the wah first, the distortion second, the fuzz third, and the phase shifter fourth. If it still doesn't work, I'm not sure.

  • Alright man, thanks

  • dude, my fuzz face is being weird, can you tell me how to work it? (i dont know whats wrong with it)

  • haha, well you might need to be more specific

  • Cool, would sound yet even better if you had a JCM 800 and Texas Specials on the Strat.

  • <3 <3 texas specials.

    I have 2 texas specials and a humbucker on a 1991 strat.

  • ya. do u have the stock pickups on it.

  • stock everything

  • i have a mexican strat too and it plays better than a usa strat

  • incredible, isn't it? 400 dollars for a guitar that plays like a million bucks.

  • very nice man.

  • good shit.

  • I am truly floored! Your playing shows how powerful those tools can be in the hands of a master. The sound that you're getting is absolutely massive!

  • nice....i needa get me a fuzz face =]

  • haha yea man, everyone needs a fuzz face
