do you turn the B-E stings UP or DOWN to E-G? I've tried tuning them down, but I can't get a halfway decent sound from it, so should I tune them up?

Didn't used one. I've tuned the guitar in DGDGBe (drop the? E and A strings from standard tuning). The chords were:
intro: xxx7.10.10, xxx7.10.8
bridge between intro and verse: xx2000, x40000, x00000, x00780
verse ("everybody's talking..."): x07700, x05700, x77500 (play 8 and 5 in the B string, with the pinky finger)
chorus ("time to get it..."): x0x2xx slide to x0x4xx, x77500, x09900
Or something like that.
