Allah forgives shirk ONLY if u ask for forgiveness in THIS LIFE. shirk is the biggest sin that Allah will not forgive but he wont forgive it if u DIE in shirk. for example, if i die having illegal sex, then on the day of judgement, i can be forgived for it. and if i die killing someone, i can be forgived for it. but if i die doing shirk, Allah will throw me into the fire. BUT if u ask for forgiveness in this life Allah will forgive He says it in the Quran

This is a powerful surah, there's a story behind it. Basically there's a murderer on the loose and a girl sees the murderer she recites Ayatul Kursi, and the murderer just goes past her, later the police find the murderer and asks why didn't you attack the child? The man replies "No, there were 3 big guys behind here, I'd never"....this 3 big guys were angels! SubhanAllah! Takbir!
