  • Rickroll has Best Music

  • SNES better music, 32x better gameplay, PC better overall, cheaper, easier to find and playable on anything. :|

  • best rick roll ever got a good review and then bitched slapped

  • Atari Jaguar do Doom wins, but Snes and 32x are not better. I really hate the graphic of Doom in Snes, i hate this music of Doom 32x!

  • @MrMeninolucas it was a hard decision for me to make which one was better of the 3 (snes, jaguar, 32x) but I completely agree that the jaguar version was the best in terms of graphics and gameplay but I will say this much we should stop and think that each version had something that the others lacked such as 32x had good graphics but the sound sucked and snes had worse graphics but way better sound and the jaguar had the best graphics but no music during gameplay! they're all different in a way.

  • First off the only think Snes had to offer was the sound, and was always better then Genesis. But the Genesis game play was always hundred times better. Nintendo always appealed to family, genesis more to adults. Just like Mortal Kombat Snes great sound, no blood, horrible gameplay. Genesis, bad sound, wonderful support, quality game play.

  • @AssMaster0069

The same can be said of GBA vs SNES

  • All you got to do is shut the genesis music off, and its a better version to play! I never play with the music, also I would shut snes off too. Both sound like shit, but 32x game play is better.

  • SNES looks like Shit 32x sounds like Shit Thats all

  • All FPS games of biginning.

  • LIEK OMJ I HAZZ JUST GOTTENZ RICKROLLD LIEK I FUCKING CRAE

  • wow. 32x actually sounds like farting. HOLY SHIT THATS ANNOYING

  • I am amazed by the whole "Snes has better music so that makes it a better game" approach, Jesus, trade in your consoles and buy an IPOD if that's what you go for. Seriously though, as the FIRST console release of Doom the 32X only had the Jaguar port to compete with 7days later with no ingame music so respectfully the 32X though rushed should never be dissed. SNES Doom came out waaay later - do you not think the developers took note of weaknesses of other releases and improve on them?

  • Although i love the consoles, Both versions are terrible.

  • The 32x music sounds like farting.

  • it's not even close...the 32x version is HANDS down better than the SNES...SNES has funky sounds on all their games...the 32x is much much better quality video and sound

  • so once again you trough that the snes version was amezing duo it,s limmitations, well for an fx2 chip wich seems nothing more then an overclocked 16bit fx1 chip game yes it is.

at the other hand if they had wait a litle more, tyhey could had use the st0018 nec v810 chip instead wich was an amezing 32bit chip,

sadly it was not from nintendo and was only used in 1 game called hayazashi nidan ghousy 2,but if it also was used in snes doom we would,ve now a great port of it!!!

  • I vote 32X, I couldn't even read the difficulty writing on the SNES version, and the textures were terrible. Not meaning to be a graphics whore, but this is a rare situation where it really is an outstanding difference, and an important enough one to swing my opinion to the 32X version.

  • You can make doom even better now.

    Download Brutal doom.

Unzip it in skulltag (the engine).

Download the doom level soundtrack (Named DoomMetal) and put that in the skin folder in skulltag.

Download the doom 1, doom 2, TNT and plutonia wads.

    Enable OpenGL

and then play doom how it was originally meant to be but the hardware at the time couldn't allow it.

And yes the Brutal Doom mod has fatalities.... and lots and lots of blood.

  • Never realised this was on the Snes, think they did a fantasic job to get it to run at all let alone as well as it did

  • I had a mobile version of doom on my old motorolo, yes I actually finished the game, you move 1 square at time having to push a button for each step uh!

  • bore...

  • Two versions really sucks.

  • SNES had better sound but, Genesis had smooth gameplay and better graphics and missing levels.

  • @majorgross96

PC version better than these ports. ;)

  • @TheGoregrinde I know but i comprasing this 2 ports ;).

  • @Mike89066

Actually I call it PS1 just to seperate the 2, hell PSX is so obscure a machine anyway.

  • The 32x music really does just sound like an orchestra of farts.

  • @disabledpikachu I heard that the 32x's music was not tuned to the right sound settings. So that why the 32x sounds so horrible in music for doom.

  • Compared to the PC version both are shit. And considering the first 9-level episode of Doom was free, all one needed was a half-decent PC at the time to enjoy Doom.

I still admire, from a programming perspective, the SNES port. It really did try hard to bring Doom to the 16-bit arena...

  • Snes has better sound, but the 32X DOOM is better gameplay

  • @hayato1ful The gameplay is the same. snes version is superior PERIOD

BTW the sound chip of snes was developed by Sony.Sega always suffered with inferior hardware and library compared with its competitors.

  • @elementalsorcerer113 Gameplay is not the same, I have played the snes and it's a slugload of bollocks! I also think the music is shit on the snes! Megadrive gameplay 32x was mint but music except for the first level sucked balls too!

  • @hayato1ful The 3DO had the kick assiest soundtrack of all ports.

  • SNES= no monster infighting. Enough said.

  • The snes version sucks!!!

  • Well... the 32X version was playable (just with a nice CD in your stereo) as the SNES just wasn't.

  • Believe it or not, the SNES version isn't slow at all, its only choppy and that's what makes people think that the game has a bad framerate. If you see it the other way, the SNES version runs about 35 frames. Its only Skippy and that's what makes it LOOK slow. The 3DO and Saturn version is the real 15 frames. Its choppy AND slow so I think you know the difference now.

  • @SNESFanboy64 believe it or not you are a bullshitter. 35 frames my ass. Why the fuck would they even use a random ass number like 35 when locking at 30 was the norm? I don't even think the jaguar could do that and that was way more powerful than the super nintendo. the only reason the super is even handling doom at this level is because they made a whole new fucking engine. otherwise it couldnt even run it

  • @renge9909 Jesus christ, I was only joking, this game runs slower than 10 frames. Doom SNES is literally running on PC Wolfenstein 3D Engine. Nah I Think its worse. But the 3DO version does run slower.

  • @renge9909 Sarcasm, i think you know the difference.

  • cool

  • well atleast you did the rick roll in the end than the begining

  • SNES: Graphics are a little too simple for my tastes, and there are some control issues, but it's a good port, and the music rocks!

32X: Half the levels are missing, the graphics are ridiculously pixellated, the music sounds like a diarrhea orchestra...

I do not think I need to say which version is superior.

  • @CCharmanderK i mean if you were back in the 90s which one would have chosen? now though we have better grapics and sound quality but i mean its old tho. so maybe you should consider thoes facts

  • SNES version. Only thing thats sucka are the graphics. Everything on the 32X sucks especially the music

  • Not even comparable. 32x by a landslide. Both systems music is shit, just the 32x is diarrhea.

  • omg the music is so shit for the 32x lol

  • One other plus for the SNES version is more variety. If you noticed, the wall textures are more varied and just have more flare than the 32x version. The SNES version also has more decoration, like the tech pillars in the room with the armor near the beginning.

On a technical level, 32x wins but I'd say the SNES version manages to look less bland and, in a funny way, resembles the PC version more. As you said, it was likely because the game was rushed.

  • the 32x was capable of sound on par with the SNES.

But due to programming difficulties and rushed deadlines sound never came through the way it should have.

  • The Atari Jaguar version looks better than both of these.

  • 32x FTW

  • @bodygloveman do you even know ANYTHING about the piss of shit 32X's version of Doom?

  • 32x sounds like farts

  • wait...

i'm halfway in the video and i noticed:

    Artist: Rick Astley

Buy "Never Gonna Give You Up" on: AmazonMP3, iTunes

    rickroll.

  • both versions look smoother than the saturn one :P

  • @Supertomiman yeah

doom on 32x has better graphics and better frame rate than snes but the snes has more levels and more everything than 32x :l

  • ...Theres a port of this game on a calculater...A CALCULATOR!...thats just a testimate to how huge this game was, and is.

  • Comment removed

  • 16 bit fail...

  • to bad they never gave it out for ps3 to buy to day D:

  • @syrupj hope they will :(

  • I remember when this game were released to Snes, this seemed to be a technologic miracle, because the game was very similar to PC version. But, the 32x version, in despite of the good graphics, just showed the limitations of this add-on. You forgot to say that was impossible to save in 32X version, that was so awful.

  • @wgalletto i belive their were cheats...i had that version of it and i liked it...but i was also like 7 or 8 years old

  • @wgalletto ...Dude SNES had the worst graphics and the controls sucked ass. the reason so many people side with the 32x is because the conrols were better.

  • @tamemsam Well, I agree. But, in those times, this port made a good impression, because of the limitations of the console... The main thought is that the SNES version were the best that was possible to do for that console, and the 32x version could be much better... I don´t know why, but a port of this game that I really dislike is the 3DO one...

  • @wgalletto

That's a pretty good way of looking at it.

I recall the 3DO port of Doom was the only one which offered to adjust the display size. Someone mentioned reducing the screen to the size of a small post card to get playable FPS. Whoever ported that was either lousy or needed to get the job done in like a week.

  • @tamemsam i disagree

the 32x have no shoulder buttons so u have to hold down a button in order to strafe also u need a 6 button controller so u can use map-switch weps-etc.

so clearly the snes have better control

+ half the levels are missing in the 32x port (17 levels) and theirs nobosses-noBFG9000-farting music-no inferno

the snes port have (22 levels-all bosses-all weps-all episodes-music is better than the PC)

the only flaws is just the graphics and frame rate

    while 32x flaws is everything

  • I love my SNES and my Genesis, but wtf were you thinking Sega? 32X=fail

  • 32x looks better but why did they choose to fart the soundtrack?

  • 32x sucks, doom for 32x sucks, snes rocks, doom for snes rocks, and doom for pc rules!!!!

  • @pollotierrez actually, doom on 32x owns the shit outta doom on snes. now you know.

  • @LordHines420 no

    the 32x only have 17 levels-farting music-no bosses-no BFG9000

snes has 22 levels-all secret levels and bosses-all weps-and its the most accurate port ever known in the 90s cuz it followed the PC while the rest of the ports followed the jaguar port (which that port 1st made console port)

  • @killkenny5000 yeah but the graphics and framerate blow rendering it pun intended unplayable. so that other stuff is moot.

  • @pollotierrez fuck the snes

  • Artist: Ric---

    ITS A TRAP!!!

  • Artist : Rick Astl-

    Wait What ?

  • It seems you like Fallout

  • @Irv1n3 Seems like you're right :)

  • @SiLeNtXaViOr the comment about germany... it is agains the german mandates to display any murdering of humans in any game. goes alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way back to contra...... in germany they have an alternative called probotector-- all the humanoids are robots even you. same goes for super c. super probotector it is....look it up if you dont believe me. and try playing old school contr... i mean probotector and compare the difference.

  • The 32x had a better game but the music killed it

The SNES had better music but the game wasn't that bad

  • @jasohavents genesis has better graphic, but snes has better sound and half of the game is skiped on the genesis so snes win faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar

  • 32x music sounds like farting

  • 8:03

  • 32X all the way. It has the perfect gameplay, sounds, but the music? Damn you 32X. (32X is one of the worst add-ons ever) (don't beieve me? check out the top 10)

  • @icemen120 It gets that warp but seriously all add ons suck. And the 32x isnt near the worst.

N64 DD has like 10 games for them and 5 of them are mario paint. Its terrible by far the worst.

Jaguar cd has about 8 games they all suck and the system breaks if you look at it funny.

  • 32X version sounds like doom for the NES.

  • 32X WINZ, SNES PHAILZ

  • this is the best graphics game on snes... well this and star fox and star fox 2 beta

  • This doesnt show how unplayable the snes version is, its just very unresponsive, button press to fireing takes ages, 32x version plays a lot smoother. Both awfull versions anyway.

  • Yes but everyones forgeting, its easy to diss these games but backin the mid 90's I had Doom for my Snes...Cost nomore than any other game and didnt need any extra hardware to play it. My mate had Doom on his megadrive...he had to fork out £100+ for a 32x to play it and it only had 1st episode. needless to say we were both chuffed to be playing doom on our home consoles but the Snes had much more levels and lasted a lot longer...You could finish the 32x onein like half an hour!

  • Okay so....

32x: Crap music, gameplay has been greatly affected because some idiot decided to make the monsters one-sided, graphics are nice, next to no lag, and still perfectly playable

SNES: EPIC music, gameplay... Well, if you can see it, it's still there! Graphics are so muddy you can't distinguish what's 5 feet away from you, and also, EXTREMELY laggy....

Wich do i choose for my classic doom gameplay? ZDOOM IN SOFTWARE MODE!

  • Music in the 32x version is HORRID!!!! The SNES one is fucking amazing!

  • ok the version of 32x have more FPS And sounds but no have good music and the version of nes i like more

  • thumbs up if the AVGN led you here.

  • OMFG 32X SUCKS >:I y is it even a game it should be a turd not a game >:I

  • play the game allready >:I

  • the slightly better music on the SNES doesn't matter shit if you can't see the game. If you want to listen to the music buy the damn soundtrack

  • i grew up playing the 32x version. i miss those days

  • does this actually have footage or is it all photos?

  • the 32X music sounds like someone musically shitting their pants

  • Why do people call the Playstation the PSX?

  • @ARTICWARFARE2200 In the Playstations development it was called the PSX hence people still call it the PSX

  • @SiLeNtXaViOr Actually, that's not the reason.

There's a Sony console only sold in Japan called thye PSX.

    It plays PS1 & PS2 games.

    IT also had a DVR.

  • @TheTechnoSauce Well that to

  • @TheTechnoSauce The PS2 plays PS1 and PS2 games... it's called the PS2.

  • @TheTechnoSauce actually that's not the reason either, PSX was the original development name - playstation x

  • @TheTechnoSauce

That was created years later. The ps 1 was called the psx before it was released. There was even a playstation magazine by that name.

  • @TheTechnoSauce but the ps2 plays ps1 games

  • @TheTechnoSauce Even before the PS2 was released, I saw games marketed for the PS1 as "PSX" games. I first noticed it on the sticker for Power Move Pro Wrestling in 1997.

  • psx= original bulky gray playstation1. ps one= the little white mini playstation with the later add on screen that hooked to the back and folded shut over the game door

  • @ARTICWARFARE2200 cos it sounds cooler and quicker to write

  • @ARTICWARFARE2200 this is exactly what i say, the ps1 is a ps1, and PSX is a completly different console, it plays ps2 so its a different model PS2. I hate how people call 1 X

  • @artiseLBP

Before the real PSX even came out, everyone and their mother called the PS1 a PSX. Even Sony employees were using that abbreviation. The name stuck for years. Check out any gaming mag from that era or old IGN articles. It's just an old school habit of people who weren't toddlers in that era.

  • @dunnono00 no one i ever knew called it X maybe its what other countries say i dunno

  • The music sounds more grim. I like the 32X

  • i mean better lol

  • well for me SNES is better...i know 32x has better gameplay 7 years ago my dad buy one (SNES) to me and this year he died :'( for this reason i SNES is batter for me.

  • Ultimately, this is a failure of porting, not hardware. Whether it was time constraints, or neglect due to market conditions, the 32X was capable of more than this. The SNES Doom is pretty impressive for what it is, but it does tend to chug since it taxes even the FX2 to its limits.

Doom for the SNES offers more bang for the buck. Doom for 32X is more playable.

  • Lol at mad Sega fanboys. fact is that SNES had the better version, and needed no add-ons. Stop being in denial. Super FX chip ftw.

Lol Sega has "Blast Processing!" RADICAL DUDE!

  • @CyberSpectrumND Well, the Super FX chip can count as an add-on. Sega tried that too with the SVP chip, but they figured it would be better to make that into an add-on so consumers didn't have to keep paying $100 for a game that had a special chip in it like they did with the SNES.

And I'd say the 32X is the better version. Yeah it's missing levels and the music is pretty bad, that is entirely due to it being rushed, and not a hardware issue.

  • @CyberSpectrumND The 32X version wins simply because its actually playable. It has no framerate issues, no controller lag, good distance viewing, floor and ceiling textures, etc. The SNES version is awful. There's no reason to play it these days with so many better versions out there.

  • @therangersrule68 When youre like me, you get used to the lag. Why? because i own and play it all the time. :3 perfectly playable. Music keeps you in the mood aswell.

  • There is one thing that needs to be heavily addressed here. Emulators for both these systems are not 100% accurate. First of all SNES Doom on a real SNES does not run that well. It's actually pretty choppy and slow. 32X Doom doesn't sound as bad and runs a little better on real hardware as well.

  • snes has better sound efects,32x has better graphics

    fact!

  • @TheFred128 the megadrive sound alone is always better then the super nintendos in fact, 32x is better

  • @SEGAmegadriveable hmm, I thought the graphics of the 32 much better than the super nes, but I think the audio super nes best because of the music that seems to sound better.

  • @TheFred128 ok thats your opinion no problem

  • Try Final Doom on PSX (1)

  • @torerik1234 Doom 1,2 on PSX is the best, Final Doom is good also but I think that the maps in Doom 1,2 is far better

  • @SiLeNtXaViOr Thats true, but the gun and the monsters grunts are very superb, for an PSX Doom game.

  • @torerik1234 I agree

  • THE SOUND OF THE GUN ITS BETTR IN THE 32X

  • the music on the 32x version sounds like it's farting

  • while i agree that the pc version was the best graphically, if you want to play doom on a console, jaguar is the way to go. yes it does have the best graphics out of all the consoles that doom was released on, but you'll have to imagine the music because it's not included in the Jaguar port.

  • PC version owns all other ports & it's obvious

    1.best graphics

    2.best sound

    3.best speed

    4.!!!multiplayer!!!

    Objections?

  • obviously 32x version runs better, 32x cost 150 bucks and had two processors after all. on the snes, you only bought the game as the super fx was in the cart. no expensive add on crap that doesn't even work.

  • sound on SNES is better, graphics are way better on 32x

  • The auto-atim system was so lenient in the SNES version. I guess it had to be. I spent...countless...I can't even exaggerate how many hours I spent playing SNES Doom as a kid.

  • sorry but X32 is better than snes ;)

  • haha the 32x sound like me takin a shit !!!

  • The Jaguar version owns both the 32x and Snes versions, only one problem: there was no music. It is said that the music was left out to make it scarier, but I don't know if that is true or not. The Snes had better music because of it's superior sound chip to the genesis one that the 32x utilized, but the 32x version was much smoother and cleaner both graphically and gameplay wise. The Snes version was badly blurry and laggy by comparison. Out of the two, 32x wins in my personal opinion.

  • @Joeyboots80 The 32x version is missing so many textures, even whole areas of the map! The frame rate was slgihtly better but man..the SNES had more color too. I never understood why Sega graphics always looked washed out compared to SNES.

  • @liamvg The problem I have with that is that your statement only applies to Genesis, the 32x could produce more colors on screen than the SNES. 32x had it's own graphics chip separate from the genesis but it shared the genesis sound chip. Doom on 32x was not washed out at all, the color was just more muted like the PC original, the SNES version looked cartoony by comparison. It may have had missing or changed textures, but so did all the console ports Pre-PSX, especially the SNES.

  • @Joeyboots80 32X came equipped with a audio chip. ;) It was actually a extremely good audio chip that could do things far beyond what the SNES could do. The only problem is very few developers ever actually used it. Games like Tempo are great examples of 32X games that actually took advantage of it.

  • @liamvg Also, Just so you know, I am not saying the Snes version was a bad game, it's freakin' Doom man. I played the hell out of it too. I still have it. It's just that it was the most technically inferior version.

  • Wow i always though the 32x doom looked pretty shit after playing the PC version but damn after seeing the Snes version it looks positively hi res.

Either way playing it on a Snes or 32x is no way to experience Doom both versions are crap but nice comparison anyway =P.

  • 32X = EAR RAPE DAMNIT!!!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=k7nsBoqJ6s8

    Genesis does!

  • @PuksisKissa Funny. What is that the ad for the genesis before the SNES. Sega fans forget that NES has Super Mario Bros 3 when the genesis came out so us nintendo guys were all set for a while.

  • the music sounds like farts on the 32x version

  • ill always like my good old doom 1 and 2 and final pc wads on skulltag

  • 32X audio is crap

  • damm, rick rolled again

  • the snes has shitty graphics and i mean shitty but the 32x has good graphics but the music on the snes is better by far the 32x is sum1 beating on drums while taking a shit

bt 4 me i think pc is the best

  • Comment removed

  • DooM IS the best FPS of all times.

  • The best iteration of DooM I have played is Chocolate DooM. It lets you play DooM engine games EXACTLY as they were on DOS on ANY computer!

  • It sucks that the SNES port has the most bad-ass music but shittiest controlls and the opposite for the 32x.

  • Give me the SNES doom any day over that wet fart 32x version. Oh and to the people saying PC or DOS version is better... NO SHIT!!!!

  • @SuperAnthonySixFour So, you prefer slow and ugly SNES version to fast and good looking 32X version? And to PC version which is the best?

  • @ResurrectedTemplar I prefer the PS1 Doom over all of the Dooms for the spooky music. The SNES Doom I give the most credit to cause of the limitations. A 16 bit console handling that game is amazing. Sure the 32X game runs smoother but it lacks levels and doesn't run full screen and has horrible music.

  • @SuperAnthonySixFour Nothing amazing, just a bunch of extra chips and no love.

Sure, 32X has less levels, but tell me, would you prefer more levels of slug-fest or less levels of cool gameplay?

PS1 Doom? Meh. I prefer PC Doom's music. Nothing tops Sign of Evil.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar You are talking 1994 on the SNES playing doom. Thats amazing. They pushed the SNES with that. IT IS NOT THE BEST DOOM but I give it credit. Plus shoulder buttons for strafing. I have both SNES Doom and 32X doom. They are both bad but the SNES one is just unique.

  • @SuperAnthonySixFour Now Zero Tolerance for the Genesis IS amazing, because it doesn't use ANY extra chips.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar It uses a 32 Bit add on.

  • @SuperAnthonySixFour If you're talking Zero Tolerance, then it doesn't.<
