Nothin like dueling guitars, and no doubt one of the best and greatest rock bands of the 80's, these guys are tight, awesome performance, which i challenge any band from the last 20 yrs to compete with, just not gonna happen, the 80's produced some of the best and most talent ever in the music industry, i'll accept all challenges from any doubters out there, I'm waiting !!!!!!!
1983....man what a freakin great year !! There was a slew of great albums that year. Hell, even MTV played actual fucking M*U*S*I*C !! .......today ? nothing but shit.....everything.....
@hazor777 Yeah 83 was the best . Class of 83 Northern California.. Saw these guy's when they first came out . They opened for Sammy Hagar Three lock box tour . @ The Cow Palace. Awesome show !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"she does'nt care for a halo, she never ever sez no"...this is the tune here...god damn god damn god damn...this is what i'm talkin about!!! this pure freakin rock n' roll bliss!!!
@MrHdmi003 thats not hard to do today, i went for a ride with a guy i met from work, he is a little younger, and he had his buddy in the car with him, and they put on m and m, thats just shit, as for night ranger, i love the songs, don't tell me you love me, touch of madness, when you close your eyes, rumors in the air, they did have a great band, loved gillis and watson, the drummer sang as good or better than the singer,
note for all guitarists: Hal Leonard finally came out with a guitar TAB/transcription of most NR grtst hits. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven when i saw the two guitar lines for Eddie's comin' out tonight.
They are playing two shows 6 and 8pm tomorrow at the Alameda County Fair, CA for free with the Fair admission ... before the fireworks show!!!! Saw them a few years earlier at the same Fair with Jeff Watson was still in the band ... Awesome Show ... they sound perfect Live.
Totally underrated band. They played at the Wilflower Festival in Richardson,Texas last weekend and they were awsome even after all these years! Joel Hoekstra and Brad Gillis were tearing it up on guitar,Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy both sound great too!!! If they come to your town...DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!!!
I can never get tired of watching these old NR vids...too bad most people associate them with "Sister Christian" and write them off as just another hair band...those folks have no clue!
I have to agree with that, being only associated with SC. Not that it was a bad song but there is just so much more! They don't know what they're missing!
Brad is a great guitarist and its technique and skill with the whammy bar has given him its present fame, Brad next to Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy is founders of the band, The amazin combination of Keagy and Blade voices and chemistry between Jeff Watson and Brad Guillis make Night Ranger a mega band. The contribution of Watson cannot be ignored Watson definitively is amazing. In my opinion, its absence is remarkable, does not exist sustitute reasonable.
Yeah,I prefer that to bands that make "masterpiece records" and sound weak live. One time I got angry at a SOTD show and flipped of the guitar player and he just shook his head and opened his mouth with a cross-eyed look.
Nightranger's just on of those bands that are so much heavier live than they are on the albums.I seen them in a small club and Brad Gillis definetly rocks out.
No kidding man. I am a bassist and at one gig, I jumped off one of our monitors thinking I was a badass. Could not walk for a week after that gig. Doing the splits when unattended wreaks havoc on the ol' groin.
80's. I've seen them live 8 or 9 times.Always great.I have never to this day seen better twin lead guitar playing.Just awesome! These guys have had such an impression on me that they are the standard for all other bands for me.There is always one of there cd's in my car.But I admit my favorite cd is Dawn Patrol.
As you can see by my user name I'm one of their most loyal fans.
Got to see these guys live back in 84 in Toledo ohio at the sports arena when they wwere second on the bill with Ian Gillan and Black sabath on the Born again tour i caught one of Jeff Watsons picks it was steel with a phillips screwdriver hole through it so he could get a grip while picking great show fr sure.
