@WhyTheHellNot420 all you have to do is download the zune software and install it on your computer. Take the music files/ folder that you have synced to iTunes and sync them to the Zune software and all of your music will be on standby to sync to your windows phone/zune. you can do this by going into the settings menu under the Zune software and going under Collections. I actually find the software extremely easy to use, you just have to familiarize yourself with it. It shouldnt be too hard. :)

@BGFGR well they did it for the zunes, the zune 30gb got the same upgrades as the 120gb, i have to admit that windows considers legacy software and hardware a lot
@BGFGR If they don't brick your phone like recent updates (which they say "only" affected 10% of wp7 users and of those half had bad internet connection or low disk space) you can hope they give you updates, however I suspect they will only give a few updates and then hope you switch to a newer phone.
With Android that doesn't happen because you can always flash the latest Cyanogen Mod and have a newer phone.
Why note tell that Windows Phone 7 does not support connecting to Wi-Fi access points which are hidden, have a static IP address, tethering to a computer, videocalling, VoIP calling, USB mass-storage, universal email inbox, universal search, turn-by-turn navigation, a system-wide file manager, Bluetooth file transfers, on-device encryption and only support syncing with Exchange ActiveSync over the network (no tethering).

The UI is clean and functional, I'm an iPhone user (past 2 or so years) and an Apple engineer/consultant (for 20+ years), but this OS is a nice fresh way of having the info you need at your fingertips, I like the change from the old 6.5 also I am a little bored with the iOS and Android OSs, so yeah a refreshing change from the 'norm'
One thing... The email background seem to be in white even though you have chosen the black theme, can this be changed to black also?

I dont think windows phone 7 would survive, the markets already flooded with fantastic phones that are made by companies who've had a much better start than MS.. even though Microsoft was one of the first in the game. Microsoft has no share in the mobile market right now. I predict this OS should flop in a few years.

@bloodfartz my wife has an iphone 4 and I use the samsung galaxy S. Both are excellent phones. They do what they are supposed to do. If the windows 7 phone is the competitor that it saids it would be, i trust them cuz of the big organization and tech that is backing them up. I used an ipod and a zune before as well. Honestly, they both work perfectly well as well. Don't let marketing dictate your thinking.
personally i think the andrioid is a cheap overated piece of shit, the iphone is good but too pricey(i got an ipod touch) and this OS is perfect, im paying $400 for an HTC HD7, compared to the iphone 4 which is $600
@360ownez What makes it cheap, what makes it overrated? The only issue for android operated phones are the phones them selves. Android as the OS is built extremely stable and has much more potential than the iPhones OS.
Htc hd 7 has hd screen. Doeas it mean that in order to watch hd movies I need to transfer hd movies? Those movie files will take large amounts of memory space.
I could have only one ot two movies max. I don't get it.
@BGFGR It doesn't have a full HD screen, it's only WVGA which is pretty decent for a phone. So you would only have to transfer movies onto the phone in WVGA resolution, which is significantly smaller.
Personally I wouldn't watch a movie on a phone, as it would kill the battery life, but you're free to do as you wish!
Maybe Windows should just give up and make a MS Office Ap for the droid.. Seriously, they practically started the market and could of kept it if they just made the OS finger friendly and got over their need to make it look like a windows desktop (and worked out the endless bugs). I loved the phone for the geeky factor, but dham was it a basic windows OS on a smart phone. Microsoft did (as usual) realize late on the importance of mobile devices. I remember they had absolutely no support for their old mobile OS.

After 7 came out, thats was the last straw for me, I switched over to a Mac and I'm never fucken going back to windows. @macfahad Can't say i blame you. I build all the Windows images for work (sysprepping, etc). Took a look at Win 7 and really don't like the layout. No classic menus (w/o 3rd party), just customizing the logon screen background is a difficult process, and they still don't support multiple desktops like a fedora box does. I could really careless about the snap to screen features. I need to upgrade one day I suppose, but for now i'm sticking with Win XP

I currently own a Motorola Droid, which will be replaced VERY soon with either an iPhone 4 or a next gen stock Android phone. But this?? Are you kidding me Microsoft? I don't have to do much more than watch this video to know that I absolutely hate the UI.
I'd take a Palm Pre over this any day of the week even.

I dont think windows phone 7 would survive, the markets already flooded with fantastic phones that are made by companies who've had a much better start than MS.. even though Microsoft was one of the first in the game. After their IE flop, the only thing that saved them was the fact that everyone used Windows and IE was redly available on their desktop. Its a different game this time. Microsoft has no share in the mobile market right now. I predict this OS should flop in a few years.

@metalcore211 A fad goes away after a short while.... I'd say iphone4 sales speak for themselves that the fad that started over 4 years ago is a litle more than just a trend... And another thing! Leaving phones aside, lets try mp3 players. Is there anything other than an ipod that you would buy? And i dont mean just now, more like since the early 2000s.... So yeah, go buy a win7 phone and a zoon next time, so my line ups are shorter

@bloodfartz my wife has an iphone 4 and I use the samsung galaxy S. Both are excellent phones. They do what they are supposed to do. If the windows 7 phone is the competitor that it saids it would be, i trust them cuz of the big organization and tech that is backing them up. I used an ipod and a zune before as well. Honestly, they both work perfectly well as well. Don't let marketing dictate your thinking.

personally i think the andrioid is a cheap overated piece of shit, the iphone is good but too pricey(i got an ipod touch) and this OS is perfect, im paying $400 for an HTC HD7, compared to the iphone 4 which is $600

@360ownez What makes it cheap, what makes it overrated? The only issue for android operated phones are the phones them selves. Android as the OS is built extremely stable and has much more potential than the iPhones OS.

Htc hd 7 has hd screen. Doeas it mean that in order to watch hd movies I need to transfer hd movies? Those movie files will take large amounts of memory space.
I could have only one ot two movies max. I don't get it.

@BGFGR It doesn't have a full HD screen, it's only WVGA which is pretty decent for a phone. So you would only have to transfer movies onto the phone in WVGA resolution, which is significantly smaller.
Personally I wouldn't watch a movie on a phone, as it would kill the battery life, but you're free to do as you wish!

Maybe Windows should just give up and make a MS Office Ap for the droid.. Seriously, they practically started the market and could of kept it if they just made the OS finger friendly and got over their need to make it look like a windows desktop (and worked out the endless bugs). I guess they think this is a step in the right direction, but the main menu looks like it was designed by a third rate, Warhol wannabe, community college artist who hates his Dad. 2) I don't know, havn't tried it yet, but would love to if they had MS Outlook supported, so agreed
3) iPhone was extremely finger friendly, so is droid. Windows Phone 6.2 and earlier needs third party software to make it friendly (see my Samsung video)

5) I am a MCSE, dumbass, I know what OS my system is running off of, hell I know it inside out. I have no stock in MS so really I don't give a fuck what they do as a company. But I did see them miss the boat and now they are trying to play catch up JUST like they did with internet browsers and 90% of everything else they do. It's very had to be an appologist for MS when confronted by Mac fans about their short comings.

@scrappmutt2 You're right about missing the boat! I remember having the old HTC phone running windows mobile 5. I loved the phone for the geeky factor, but dham was it a basic windows OS on a smart phone. Microsoft did (as usual) realize late on the importance of mobile devices. I remember they had absolutely no support for their old mobile OS.

@scrappmutt2 To think about it, they've dropped the ball on a lot of things, including their windows OS. After 7 came out, thats was the last straw for me, I switched over to a Mac and I'm never fucken going back to windows. And I'm a windows application developer LOL So I still gotta use it for development, but nothing outside that.

@macfahad Can't say i blame you. I build all the Windows images for work (sysprepping, etc). Took a look at Win 7 and really don't like the layout. No classic menus (w/o 3rd party), just customizing the logon screen background is a difficult process, and they still don't support multiple desktops like a fedora box does. I could really careless about the snap to screen features. I need to upgrade one day I suppose, but for now i'm sticking with Win XP
