Why then only the USAAC did bomb industry and infrastructure. The ambitions of the RAF were political - to kill people. By the way, the British military DID RESIST the Lindeman plan. And it is noteworthy that the atrocity was planned and implemented BY A POLITICIAN, not the Military.

There Churchill tries to persuade the Cabinet members the use of mustard gas. He is apparently not happy with the results of night bombings but would like to enhance the impact by using mustard gas.
The Military declines this effort. Churchill is very creative with the truth stating that the gas attacks are "mostly curable" and the mentions only once that the gas used German civilians would be "mostly mustard gas".
No-one can conduct a war without the support of the majoirty of its population to provide physical and moral support. Dresdeners fully supported their beloved Fuehrer as long as his invasions of other countries was going well. It was only when it was Dresdenrs and not Londoners, Russians or Warsawers that were being killed that their support wavered. In return, the Wehrmacht took their anti-aircraft guns for their own protection - they had very good reason to be afraid of the Russians.

The V2 rockets which were being launched indiscriminately against London at the time Dresden was being attacked, were made by prisoners from Mittelbau-Dora, a camp which although not in German terms, a death camp, 20,000 people died there. 9,000 died from exhaustion and collapse, 350 were hanged and the remainder were either shot or died from disease or starvation. None of the many cities destroyed by the Luftwaffe screamed 'War Crime' not London, Warsaw, Rotterdam etc Only Dresden did that!

The "Trenchardian" air war doctrine with civs as the target is British invention. The British used mustard gas and white phosphorus against Kurd, Iraqi and Indian villages in the 1920s.

The German Luftwaffe blast bombed and fire bombed London, Liverpool, Bristol, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Belfast, Glasgow, Coventry, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Cardiff, Manchester etc etc. Many of the British bomber men of RAF Bomber Command would have been from those afore mentioned cities that were smashed by the German bombers. Surely, the people of Dresden and Germany cannot have any complaints about what they got back from RAF Bomber Command.

Secondly the RAF/USAAC droped MILLIONS OF TONS of explosives to Germanby while Germany only tens of tons to Britain.
Lastly, the RAF sorties were 60% AGAINST CIVILIANS, AND THE DE-HOUSING PAPER TESTIFIES THAT THE KILLING OF CIVS WAS THE PRIMARY GOAL.

Many of us now have comfortable houses and the benefit of Internet and freedom of speech and expression to a world audience. No such liberties may have existed had NAZI Germany won. It's my belief that the allies were fighting a death cult in that the NAZI German leadership just could not care how many died. In fact, they actively encouraged their military to kill as many as possible in their occupied Eastern lands

@TheMrPangloss Writing of the German Ruhr industrial area, this industrial region was completely flattened by the RAF. The Ruhr was Germany's powerhouse for the production of their war machine. The whole region was surrounded by masses of anti-aircraft batteries and the brave airmen of RAF Bomber Command and their American USAAF colleagues flattened it and helped bring the war in Europe to an earlier successful conclusion.

Why then only the USAAC did bomb industry and infrastructure. The ambitions of the RAF were political - to kill people. By the way, the British military DID RESIST the Lindeman plan. And it is noteworthy that the atrocity was planned and implemented BY A POLITICIAN, not the Military.

There Churchill tries to persuade the Cabinet members the use of mustard gas. He is apparently not happy with the results of night bombings but would like to enhance the impact by using mustard gas.
The Military declines this effort. Churchill is very creative with the truth stating that the gas attacks are "mostly curable" and the mentions only once that the gas used German civilians would be "mostly mustard gas".

No-one can conduct a war without the support of the majoirty of its population to provide physical and moral support. Dresdeners fully supported their beloved Fuehrer as long as his invasions of other countries was going well. It was only when it was Dresdenrs and not Londoners, Russians or Warsawers that were being killed that their support wavered. In return, the Wehrmacht took their anti-aircraft guns for their own protection - they had very good reason to be afraid of the Russians.

Thinking that way leads us to believe that so long we don't do THAT, it's not SO bad to do nasty things to other people!!Also millions of non-Jews [disabed Germans, gypsies, gays, Christians & Communists] were victims of Nazi camps! The V2 rockets which were being launched indiscriminately against London at the time Dresden was being attacked, were made by prisoners from Mittelbau-Dora, a camp which although not in German terms, a death camp, 20,000 people died there. 9,000 died from exhaustion and collapse, 350 were hanged and the remainder were either shot or died from disease or starvation. None of the many cities destroyed by the Luftwaffe screamed 'War Crime' not London, Warsaw, Rotterdam etc Only Dresden did that!

For several reasons:
(1) Firstly, because Britain favoured the dictatorship in Germany over democracy, sabotaging the Weimar and raising Hitler and his criminals to power.
(2) Secondly, because the primary goal of the RAF night time campaign was to kill sleeping civilians at points of cities where the density of population was highest and were the cultural monuments were located.
(3) It prolonged the war.

@LordGodofMercy The secret SS recruitment in Finland went under the name Engineer Bureau “Ratas”. The Finnish recruits came from Helsinki, the capital, where 1,200 were assembled. The Finnish troops were sent to Nazi Germany for training, where they joined several Nazi Waffen SS formations: The 5th SS Division Wiking, the SS Freiwilligen Battalion “Nordost”, their own Finnish Waffen SS unit, and the II SS Regiment “Nordland”, which was part of the Wiking SS Division.

@LordGodofMercy The Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal found all SS members to be war criminals who committed crimes against humanity. We then have to ask: Why is Marti Ahtisaari honoring and commemorating war criminals? These Finnish Nazi SS troops were involved in the Holocaust and in genocide. Â Why isn’t this even news? Why doesn’t Marti Ahtisaari know what the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal held regarding the Waffen SS? Why is he so ignorant or indifferent?
