It still turns heads from a block or so away, but not like the nasty ricer exhausts. Has a deep rumble to it, actually sets off car alarms at times.

the best sound I had from my e34 535 was when I was going to mechanics without exhaust at all (only collector making insane noise and spitting flames time to time.. )

Agreed. Sold my e39 M5 with a Tubi cat back to a friend who fitted it with headers to complete the full exhaust.  Went from sounding like a Ferrari to sounding like a muscle car.

all v8 sound similar, as do all 4-cylinders, v6, etc.

@saj3n just cut the can off of it and put a turn down tip on it. i did it to my 528 and it sounds aggressive but its really not that loud.

first off, my mechanic is the one who did the work/video for me. secondly, this was over 2 years ago and car runs fine, thirdly, i own a number of bmw's and treat them all well, besides, if you read the manual, it says not to rev over 3k while cold.

automatic works great with turbos. its like a supercharger since the rpms dont drop as drastically as they do with stick. that would be the best way to go. either that or swap it to manual.

yes, well at least on these models. Modern automatics are now getting better acceleration than before though.

a little, like vo7tage said, depends on where you live what you want, if you live in a city you would probably wanna go for an automatic,these cars are not exactly ferrari´s anyway hehe they aint slow but still... if you,(live in the countryside) you would rather have a stickshift ;) to have some fun on dirt roads etc. hehe
