ive never driven a porsche but i hear that it feels very heavy in back and light in front. idunno if i like that. porsches are my favorite cars but that kinda scares me. is it true and do you guys like the feel?

The engine is in the back so YES, the back is heavier , but it's more an advantage than an inconvenient: you can brake later and harder and the car is more stable under high speed braking. You can also accelerate earlier at corner exit, you also have a quicker launch, the only thing which is strange is the understeer in slow corners but you can correct it by apply brakes during turning on the first part of the corner. Porsche are not built as others cars so you don't drive them as others cars!

On tarmac that is. A friend of mine (or a friends friend, rather) has a porsche 911 specced as a rally car, and during braking it is incredibly unstable. The back goes mental during braking, due to the necessity of having stronger rear brakes than front brakes. But that said, if you know how to drive it, its incredibly fast. I've never tried it, but I've been sitting in the co-drivers seat and the first thing that hits you is the acceleration, which is just savage.

First time I see this, I've never driven a 911 unstable during braking! He should try a braking repartitor, I think there is too much pressure in rear brakes (which are always less strong, even in a 911)

Whats a braking repartitor? Do you mean the knob with which one can adjust where the braking should be the strongest? In that case, I'd say every tuned rally car most likely has it.

As said earlier, I've never driven it. I've only been a passenger on gravel, on tarmac I've no idea how it behaves :)

Ahh it is unstable on gravel! We misunderstood each others! I'd say it is quite normal in this case, maybe he has to soften the rear suspension....And yes, I was talking about the knob, I'm French and here, we call this a "répartiteur de freinage" so I translated wrong maybe! and not every car have it, unfortunately for the drivers because it is very useful! And on tarmac, a 911 (993, 996 or 997) are just incredible on braking, especially on high speed ones!

Called the 993GT2 'EVO' as the 'EVO' name was referring to the 'evolution' of the further motorsports development of the GT2. A special version was built by Porsche containing around 800hp, but never made it to the track due to new regulations. EVO cars were producing around 600hp. Serious machinery!!! Love the 993GT2! Best cars ever!
