Well I wouldn't necessarily say that I was experienced in this video, just determined. Gaining strength has always been a huge goal of mine and I hope to one day bench 600 RAW and become one of the elite few.
Well I've developed my technique a lot since this video and so I don't bench like this anymore, but my best RAW press to date is 400.5 pounds @ 181. What about you, bud. What are you benching right now and at what bodyweight?
@cyberkai99 wow dude you are definitely one abnormally strong guy, my all time best was 250 for 3 and that was about a month ago. I dont normally have a spotter so i dont get to max too often.. Im thinking I could put up roughly 280 right now and I weigh 170 so its good for my body weight, but you're definitely stronger than me, Ive got a video of me benching 225 x 5 so you know Im not full of shit, but its old.. Im 5'7, how tall are you?
@kingrockkid i have trouble believing that, but if its true, then thats incredible.... but dwight howard also has a 40 inch vertical which is impressive
damn man one day i would like to be like this, been doing bullshit exercises for 2 years and just started doing Rippetoes starting Feb 6th. Already gaining ridiculously compared to the half ass crap i used to be doing.
I'm sure you'll get to it one day brother. Just train hard and don't stop and you will make it. My biggest issue has been battling depression on and off for the past 3 years.
i still wisdh youd bench like this man, so much more impressive than how you bench now, although i still respect your 400.5 bench as a legit gym lift.
As a weightlifter i like to prove I can move big weights with any form thrown my way. This is why I do flat and arched. I think if someone uses a bench shirt, I think they should throw in a raw lift every now and then, but thats up to them. Thats why i respected drgrowc because he did raw and geared.
I personally couldn't care less. If their is a federation that will pass my form (and there are several), then it is completely up to me whether or not I compete in any other fed. The UPA and SPF pass my form and I love those two feds. They're doing a lot of good for PL right now, so I have no motivation at all to see how much I can flat back bench unless I'm just in the mood.
come meet time I probably will always use an arch, if other people do it I will too, I still consider arching cheating alil bit, which is one of the reasons i like benching flat too, I just want to show the world I can move heavy weights no matter what kind of rules are thrown my way pretty much, thats just me though. Plus I just consider it an extra challenge, and I like challenges usually. Either way I am still determined to bench more then you hopefully arched or not.
jared youd be an idiot to bench flat i ncompeition, youd be an idiot to squat atg in competition, youd be an idiot to not round your back for deads in a comp.
but thaats a comp. i consider rounding on deadlifts legit wether a comp approves it or not (luckily they approve ha) thats why i do that in the gym. however parallel squats and arched bench i dont l;ike so much so in training i do those.
yes and your words were ''i want to do 300 to PROVE SOMETHING TO MYSELF'' obviously you feel that arching so high is not as legit as what you did here. i may be wrong though. wither way i stil consider you a 400 arched bencher. did you get my comment on your dad videoz? about the skwat?
The only reason I was considering it was because I weighed 152 the first time I benched 300, but I brought my ass off the bench (although I started flat backed). I was only going to do it because I wanted to see if I could do it legit this time, but I am now gaining weight back, so I have zero reason to do a flat backed 300.
wow the geicko caveman is pretty strong..def doesnt look like you would be able to do that. hopefully your not bullshitting and those weights are fake
Wow, that was extremely rude of you. This lift was done in a real gym. I have other vids to back me up, but I see no reason to with you. You are extremely disrespectful and I would like it if you would please keep your comments honest, but not unintelligent, thank you.
As a 255 pound senior I Maxed out with a 315 pound bench, a 420 pound squat and a 435 pound hex- bar deadlift (with straps) we used to do a lot of heavy power cleans and push presses to supplement the big three. As far as replacing your deadlifts with power cleans I'd suggest keeping them both in your regular rotation. Power cleans and Snatches are both great lifts for improving explosivness. Keep on keeping on man
hahaha ya man serious. I dont get it why people get pissed off and hate on others just because they are jealous. ill tell you that you are doing good. keep it up man
Thank you very much, but since we're on the topic. By the look of your username, I'm assuming you play football? What are your best lifts? I know a lot of coaches replace deadlifts with power cleans, but if you know what you can deadlift, then I'd like to know your three biggest lifts.
its nice power I'll give ya that, it looked like you moved butt alil but not much, so in a PL meet you would be fine, but just in case you didn't know this in PL comps you have to pause the bar on your chest, and they give you a press command.
READY?!
...no i'm not

Too funny! The dude hasn't even placed both hands on the bar and the spotter asks, "Ready?"

I am 6'3". Pretty tall actually. Although I'll have to check out your video man and you're right. You should have around 270-280 in you.
cyberkai99 1 year ago
@lilticklez damn dude, 6'3 and putting up that much? thats nuts dude, you gotta get into some kinda professional lifting or something

you told me you wanted to try a 300 flat bench on your goodbye video so obviously you care (which i found weird since youve done 330).
rctriplefresh5 2 years ago
I did 330 when I was in the light 198's. But you have to think I was weighing in the low-mid 150's during that video.
