I hope they truly make it... they both seemed to look at this way of meeting a potential life partner with the same manner of respect! I was impressed with the emotions Maria showed during the follow up with Lisa Ling, and I hope they have a beautiful life together in Houston... Think twice about importing an immigrant back to USA. If you marry and later end up in divorce; it's a huge legal nightmare. A USA divorce is financial trauma and it will break a good man in half. I think it's an 80% divorce rate among American who married w/immigrant woman from Colombia or China or Russia or other countries.It will cost you 10 times more to court and marry a foreign woman.

A US marriage is a legal binding contract in the US state with which you reside. There is a clause in US immigration law that states you are 100% responsible for any person(s) you aid/assist to the USA.T he I-864 financial support obligation .The contractual obligation to support a foreign spouse for whom you signed an Affidavit of Support remains in force and legally binding even after divorce or death, so long as that person is still a permanent resident of the United States.
