check out Herbie's funky acoustic piano playing before the electronic thing hit. Especially w/ Wayne Shorter. He was funky way before the hohner clavinet appeared on his radar screen.

@Mrthelonius11 Right on.  Love the mid 60s stuff.. Saw him around 2005 on grand piano with Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland and the kid on drums who backed Norah Jones on her first album. What a well rounded musician to say the least. My friend's chamber orchestra backed Herbie on Herbie Does Gershwin. A true musician.
