The irony is,these pastoralists are among the richest populace in Kenya but instead of conducting pastoralism as an economic activity,they do it as a hobby;They keep cattle for the sake of keeping cattle.You can imagine how much these people would have made disposing of some of the heards.They'd be landlords in Kenya.The pastoralist emancipation therefore lies not in the rainfall reliability but change in attitude. Ranchers who do the same thing in the same regions are billionaires
Excellent point, sir. Now these cows are not even worth the skin/hide carrying them n they want to sell? Who needs bones? Simple rule in enterprise: sell when prices are high...not low. It's the New World Order...
Lewis owned 700 cows and 155 goats? Jokes aside, could anyone give the average daily cost of caring for one cow i.e. water, grass and veterinary services? Just one cow! Its time pastrolists figured out quality in livestock ownership, or they're doomed.
siasabetter, isn't it a shame to see so many pounds of good meat go to waste while a few kilometers away people are munching on "bamba fifty"?Life is sure so imperfect
Pastarilism should be banned. It promotes illiteracy also. Zero grazing is the answer.

This is the arrow of God.
These pastoralists do two nasty things;
1. They graze their cows on other people's land thus destroying their crops and using their water without prior authorisation from them.
2. They steal livestock from other people because to them, it is their right. I weep not for them.
