Most people who smoke alot of pot, I know many of them personally, lose motivation and let their lives become taken over by it. People with addictive personalities seem to have the hardest time with it. I finished high school and college while smoking on a regular basis, but I know many who were in my class (highschool) that are still doing the same thing they were 7 years ago, sitting at their parents house with no job.

What's sad about this debate is that, unfortunately, many small "boutique" growers of marijuana actually oppose legalization. They fear that big companies like Phillip Morris will step in and dominate the pot market. But I think that is a needless fear. Anything produced by a big conglomerate is likely to be of mediocre quality at best. The small growers can flourish like beer microbreweries - make an exceptional product and be a quality alternative to mass-market, "Budweiser" weed.

@slikwell Tobacco is just a plant?! Nicotine is as addictive as heroin, i know people who quite the needle and are STILL SMOKING CIGS. Plants contain drugs, called alkaloids, or in pots case, cannabanoids. Not to mention that smack comes from opium, a "plant". think how lazy our country would be if weed was legal, I smoked the crap for years and replaced it with working out/body building. I get the same high from lifting, only its gotten me a great body and doesn't kill my motivation to anything but watch tv, look at youtube, and play video games. God I remember how awesome it was to be a kid.... I think it should be legal if you actually have cancer/aids/chronic illness, any other reason your just a stoner with an excuse.

Most people who smoke alot of pot, I know many of them personally, lose motivation and let their lives become taken over by it. People with addictive personalities seem to have the hardest time with it. I finished high school and college while smoking on a regular basis, but I know many who were in my class (highschool) that are still doing the same thing they were 7 years ago, sitting at their parents house with no job.

It´s two key ingredients were cocaine from the ``coca´´ leaf(benzoylmethyl ecgonine) and caffeine from the ``kola´´ nut. The K in kola was replaced by the C to form the companies name. To my surprise, it says the formula had 5 ounces of cocaine per gallon of syrup (Holy Shit!!) but that Coca Cola removed the cocaine in 1903 but to this day, still contains coca flavoring. They´re a cartel!!

it is true about herbs potential. the only problem with it is its not a controlled substance in the sense that it is so hard to curtail. anybody can grow almost anywhere with the proper tools. so it will be harder to sell cuz people can say well...i can just grow it myself. most wont so that is y they will buy. plus another problem is that the other drugs will be in higher demand cuz marijuana will be so easy accessible.

What's sad about this debate is that, unfortunately, many small "boutique" growers of marijuana actually oppose legalization. They fear that big companies like Phillip Morris will step in and dominate the pot market. But I think that is a needless fear. Anything produced by a big conglomerate is likely to be of mediocre quality at best. The small growers can flourish like beer microbreweries - make an exceptional product and be a quality alternative to mass-market, "Budweiser" weed.
