Nokia E71 smartphone review

I downloaded an app called joikuspot. It lets me use my nokia e71 mobile phone as a wifi spot. I was on my laptop for about 10 minutes. When I picked up my phone it was hot. After I turned off the app, my phone cooled down pretty fast. Could this damage my cell phone?

I've had this phone for ages and I noticed something about mine but it didn't really bother me all that much... The plastic flap that covers the Micro-USB slot doesn't go all the way in; as in it cannot close properly. It did annoy me in the beginning but since I have a rubber case on this phone it makes it better and it can't accidentally open. Other than that I like this phone because it is quite 'simple'. I tend to use phones for a long time so I will probably stick with this one for a while!

I own this phone for 2.5 years now and currently there's nothing better around for me in my opinion. The Nokia E72 is ugly and the new E6 isn't very well designed either.

The one and only thing you need to know about this phone is that its sht. Web browsing a hassle, lack of applications, a key lock system that fails and ultimately a flagship phone that will not last a drop. Never buying another Nokia.

@masenz I am comparing it to the iphones and mine has been around for 2 years, nothing interesting hereh. As someone who browses the web alot and for long durations this is definately not it for me. Iphone 4s also load alot faster. As for durability i have had my e71 screen broken 3 times. Some of my buttons look like they are about to peel off with one particular key partly chipped off. There is also dust congregating behind the screens. Just in my pocket it sometimes unlocks itself and dials.

for straight talk, i'd pick the nokia E71 over the nokia surge 6790 because the 6790 for me is a bit confusing and cheaply built. if you want a smartphone and your on straight talk the E71 is for you.

@23jhang23 Yes. With the newest firmware, at least, there is a YouTube app. As long as you have a WiFi connection, or a data plan with you cell provider, you can watch YouTube videos with it.

This is a great phone. I have one from Straight Talk for $45 a month. The phone vibrates every time you receive an e mail, in answer to indestructable 92 's question. I thought that being a prepaid phone, it would be second rate, but this phone is certainly the best business phone available.

just bought the straight talk version, its awesome. keys are a little small but i got use to it. its been a day and im happy with it. internets pretty fast switching to texting is just a little slow getting to it but its fast to text with, headspeaker is clear and perfect, i prefer it over my buddys iPhone.

I had a e71 but I changed it for the samsung corby pro cause I kinda liked the design and I liked the touch screen for better browsing experience.... MAN what a mistake! corby pro has no memory so browsing sucks, it was thicker, slower, and crappy OS that you cant install anything on.

went right back to e71 within a week.

Ill be sticking to the e series thank you very much :D

I just wish this phone has touch screen tho, browsing the web would be a lot faster that way...
