Feeding sharks seems like feeding bears, the more they are fed the more they will come around looking for food. I think this is very dangerous for every family that swims at myrtle beach.
Well, damn look's like " KingFisher Inn" down Myrle's Inlet? I remember being there once about 2 year's ago... i'm now 25... The shark's i see are very 4real and i don't see why but, there was a sensless law that we could be fined if we caught and reeled up a shark...? Unnagotiable it was.. and i bet shark would be all the more tasty? But, "Kingfisher inn"?? I was there... ^ ;?)
Ive been to myrtle beach and sometimes i happen to see people not to far from the piers, even children. If sharks are near by they might hear the splashing and attack, because as i saw you feeding them, you threw the fish in there creating a splashing effect. I have talked to pier owners and no people are not supposed to throw fish into the water, but stupid people do anyway. This is how accidents happen people, please be safe and stop encouraging the feeding of sharks.
Hey I am going there in a month or so and LOVE sharks!!! I wanna feed them like you did off the pier, is this allowed and where do you get the bits of fish?
So the lesson for all you morons that surf by the Pier, DONT FREAKING DO IT. take your boards and move down the beach and surf and swim there. if you are close enough to cut fishing lines you are to close to the PIER. People fish there, they catch fish, guess what, that attracts sharks.
probably at the same peer i have seen many sharks that big jumping out of the water at the blood draining from the peer. You know when they rinse the fish blood off. It attracts large amounts of large sharks.
I live in Myrtle Beach, I boat in Myrtle Beach and I fish in Myrtle Beach. These concentrations of sharks are extremely common, it has nothing to do with people feeding or not feeding them. These sharks are not here because people are feeding them...the people are feeding them because they are there. This is the ocean after all!
I live in surfside and those sharks have been swimming around the piers since i mored here in 1972. If they would pan the camera you could see people swimming 50 yards or from this spot. They eat fish not people.
It's illegal to throw chum to sharks off the pier because it poses a danger to swimmers. The fisherman are only supposed to use certain types of bait also. I hope this isn't Apache Pier because we have a place close to it!
It seems to have just occured to the American population that sharks live in water and hunt the very same fish that the fishermen are catching from the pier. What an amazing concept!
You are right, I was wrong to stereotype, of course not all Americans are stupid. Although, the fact that you replied to an obviously sarcastic comment as though I had intended it literally would tend to suggest that perhaps you are. Show me a video of Australians teaching their kids to feed sharks like it's a fucking zoo or something (regardless of how 'interesting' they may find that to be), particularly in the vicinity of a popular swimming area and I will write a full apology.
Lol, I like your sense of humour mate. To be serious though, I must admit that I don't or didn't really watch alot of Steve's work, I understand that he was far more popular overseas. Did he really teach his daughter in the manner that is depicted in this video, because if he did, that is actually illegal from a jetty like that. It was a bit inappropriate of him if he did. Nonetheless, the comments that I wrote were a little harsh and opinionated, so I would like to apologise for that aspect of

2) of my reply. I really don't want to get into an arguement about whether the actions depicted in the video are right or wrong, I wrote the message a while ago now and I'm over it to be honest. At the end of the day, it's illegal and no one does it where I live and surf so I'm happy. How things are done where you live is up to your community and whatever you choose is cool too. I do think that if you want to do these activities you may want to consider placing signs on the beach to inform
3) people, so that they can make an informed choice for themselves. As I understand the area shown is quite a popular tourist destination and I'm sure that not every visitor to that beach that day would have been happy to have themselves or their children swimming there. That would be their choice then, right or wrong, surely you have to give people a choice? That's all I'm saying. Anyway, Cheers & All The Best Mate.
yeah man he was trying to show her that they would do the same to her
also here in the states most all beaches are netted off separate from fishing areas while not visible from the surf on the beach swimming area they are there seems most all shark attacks here happen to surfers because they are chasing waves and not worrying about the boundaries of netted places
i also see where your coming from though and it would be stupid of anyone to take anything anyone says on the computer to heart
swimming by the pier my arse!!! they are being fed. i was out surfing at garden city pier and fisherman were feeding them. they had sharks all around the pier where we surf. we went and got knives paddled out and cut all their lines. then we went up on the pier and about threw them off.
i believe it is illegal to bait sharks. least thats what the beach patrol said before they gave them a ticket. anyway so be it, shark attacks are pretty rare. i have a worse chance of dying by my fingers falling off from typing a response to this.
I'm guessing the lady teaching her kid to feed the sharks is not well educated. Dumb Bitch! I guess we will see what happens when her kid splashes in the water... or another human... really lady? really? Haven't you ever fed your gold fish! Habits are formed. Stupid Cunt!
This is stupid as hell, and yes feeding them does make it WORSE!!!
