  • The video's embedded on the transatlantic diablog. Some more info there...

  • well the world's fucked

  • Why must it use living things to generate energy? Why not simply generate the energy by breaking down the ton of trash and left over food people throw away on a daily basis? This would provide plenty of energy to power a clock and also help eliminate the excess waste we use every day, this is just fucked up honestly, lets have my coffee table grind up live mice and suck its insides out for energy!, honestly good idea terrible way of doing it.

  • Psychotic freaks

  • I'm going to eat you now, Dave..

  • I love Science and Art but a Good percent of Scientist and Artists and their sponsors are sociopaths and/or heavily Retarded.

This guy for instance lookes healthy, good looking etc, but his Ted Bundy look wont fool me. HE is both fucktarded and a sociopath.

Whats next? Self cleaning Underwear that feeds on your poo poo and your ball sweat? Cheesus.....

  • @graphattic, there's no ethical dilemma about underwear powered by poo- it's just disgusting. There is, however, an ethical dilemma in the concept of catching and killing vertebrate animals for "entertainment".

The clock is not quite so much a dilemma because flies lack the brain functionality to experience fear (although they're most certainly capable of feeling pain), and the fly is a power source for the clock. With the coffee table, it's different: it's "death as entertainment". (cont.)

  • @suzbailey23 (cont) This vid leaves so many questions unanswered, like why a coffee table needs electricity, or by what process the mouse is killed. The impression I'm left with is, "It kills mice for entertainment", which is just what society needs like a hole in the head.

Even the clock is a gratuitous showcase of morbidity... they could have followed the design of a pitcher plant and made a bait cup that feeds the microbial cell, but instead they made a long belt so you can "enjoy" the show.

  • @suzbailey23 So you think this is maybe too crazy shit? Like I do? I am confused :P

  • @suzbailey23

it was stated at the end of the video that these items are not meant for everyday household use but to invite us to imagine the possibilities of self sustaining carnivorous robots.

  • So, the robot eats meat....does anyone else see a problem with making robots that eat meat? Considering WE ARE MEAT.

  • Comment removed

  • Most of us are taught to eat with our mouths closed from an early age because not everyone wants to see what we are eating.
