that is interesting! Originally from altoona. I am originally from Johnstown, and leg wrestling.. hmmm i've grappled, boxed and submission wrestled.... never heard of leg wrestling before. lol
I wish the rest of it was on here. The part where Richard said, "Could you imagine some whino just tuning in looking and then, 'hey! What are they doing on the floor there?'"
Imagine my amusement to see myself on You Tube after 33 years. Thank you for posting it. It was one of the most fun moments of my life and now I can enjoy it all over again.
Someone should put up the first episode of Now You See It for you as well. Granted, it is not as entertaining as either of your Match Game episodes, but I dare say it would be a treat, nevertheless.
Where there tournaments in your neighborhood, or pickup games at neighborhood events? I'm wondering how long you maintained your position as champ :) Also was your record against guys/girls different or did you just beat them all?
Yes we did have tournaments with friends and I did manage to stay on top for quite awhile. I won mostly against men. I think that it is just a matter of quickness and leverage.
I taught my kids and grandkids and we still have fun playing games. Thanks for the comment.
No...there is something called "Standards and Practices". Between "stars" maybe, but never between the talent and the publiuc. Unless Gene (or whoever thinks like that) wants to lose their entire career! Gene Rayburn was very happily married. I swear I am cracking UP at ALL these Match Game clips! They bring bakc so many great memories. TV was so cool then.
Boyyy ! There for a moment I thought that Woman was going throw Gene off stage . I guess for most women who meet Gene sort of like to flirt with him and if they were in his dressing room there might have been some romantic times , would you think so ?

I can wrestle, do judo & submission grappling but I've never been very good at leg-wrestling...too hard on my lower back.

I loved the double entendre from the contestant about her husband, the plumber! LOL

I usually beat men. I think it has to do with leverage and weight of thighs. :)

That's not how you do it! You're supposed to line you backs up, then the loser will actually flip over.

@lanikins2 - I was a kid back then and loved the show - Was Gene really that candid and crazy??!!

@lanikins2 You said you were a champion in this ep. What title was it?
gladfan1989 7 months ago
@lanikins2 I'll bet not too many people can say they once leg-wrestled Gene Rayburn. Did you end up winning the game? If so, how much did you win?

There was an episode of Late Night in which John Malkovich taught Conan how to leg wrestle. I thought it was a television first but apparently not.
