depends how you handle it I guess.. In the centre of its body... in the middle of all the tentacles.. there is a beak, yes a Beak.... most like a parrot beak, strong and sharp, and this can leave a nasty bite. Check out the beak of the pacific octopus... you get a bite from one of those....Then your in trouble lol

For anyone thats interested in purchasing one its not that hard to get ahold of one, BUT, you have to realize that they have very short life spans for the costs involved, and you can't just throw them in any tank. They need special supplies (protein skimmers etc.) and you dont just throw fish flakes in the tank, they require A LOT of work, but can be very rewarding... some people have trained them to open bottles and get food out of them and stuff. They are an expert-only animal though

the most popular species in the u.s. is bimaculoides or bimac. it doesn't grow bigger than a 23inch armspan so its more suited to an aquarium. you should be able to find one at a specialist aquarium shop or on the internet.
