It is so bad that the girl did not see the winning play at the beginng by ...Ne4! when Carlson did b3??, wich wins the Rook on a1 with the bishop. After, ever she had a good positsion against carlson, and in the end if she had played ...Qb7! instead of N.c5? it be forced for Carlson to: B.e4 R.e4, R5d4 R.d4, Q.d4 d5 (=) and black saved the game.

@goldihouse B3 is the main line in the dutch defense. It prepares a bishop fianchetto that is very useful in guarding the king in case of a kingside attack from black, which is topical in the Dutch. Before you start acting like GMs make obvious mistakes you can go "wtf" about, learn a little basic chess theory.

It's not even a question of the "superiority of the male mind." It's a rating mismatch, period. Magnus is 2800+ while the girl he's playing is 2480. You're going to lose whether you're male or female with that kinda mismatch.

@adhdboy699 Well I wouldn't say there's a rating mismatch between Anand and Carlsen at all. A rating mismatch would be something like 200 points or more separating two players. Anand is like #3 in the world rating wise, whereas Carlsen is #1. They're basically direct competitors.

is not the superiority of the male mind. is the fact that there are more male chess players than there are female, is only logical that you will get very strong male players more often. around every 10 kids that take chess 7 are male, later on maybe 4 will drop leaving 3 that may become experts, FM etc.maybe one or none that will play at the strength of Magnus, etc. out of the same example the 3 female players there is a chance that none will continue chess since is half the number of the males

@ipoundpoon Its not made up, I took some of those stats from Chess life magazine, a column that alexandra wrote. the other stuff about them dropping out is what I have seen at the chess club from young player. give it some thought It is a FACT that there are more male players, a big difference. therefore you will see stronger male player because there are more of them. There are some things that favor males in chess, spatial perception is slightly stronger, but no big deal,and physical stamina
