  • THAT horses are ordinarily kept and treated as sport and companion animals;

    THAT horses are not raised primarily as food-producing animals;

THAT horses are commonly administered drugs that are strictly prohibited from being used at any time in all other food-producing animals destined for the human food supply; and

WHEREAS Canadian horsemeat products that are currently being sold for human Support New Bill C-322 to BAN Cruel Horse Slaughter in Canada. Join us, the teams on FB & CHDC. Tks!

  • @Alenuschka1983 well actually they are both prey animals. So truthfully there is no difference.

  • This is getting old.

Looky here! 'Recommended Code of Practice for

the Care and Handling of Horses' Is it? No it can't be! A handbook on how to handle horses. It includes how to slaughter them properly? No way!

And what's this? A man was charged for inhumae transporation of horses? Dear lord that can't be truth. The CFIA doesn't do anything to help horses!

Do research and don't blindly follow what the CHDC states. Most information and pics they get are from the States. We're in CANADA!

  • @MistrusEvi You are completely incorrect. The Canadian Horse Defence Coalition films inside CANADIAN slaughter plants. If you had bothered to visit their site, or watched the two specials on CBC, you would be aware of that. The videos were taken inside Natural Valley in Saskatchewan (now permanently closed, thank God), Bouvry in Alberta and Viande Richelieu in Quebec. Whatever materials they refer to in the US, come through Equine Welfare Alliance, and are clearly identified.

  • @TreasureOne I apologize, my friend left her youtube account open and I replied from her's I deleted the comments and will post from my proper account as to not confuse you.

Yes but where are the auction pictures form Canada? I see none here. Where are the pictures of inhumane transport vehicles from Canada? There are none here. I wasn't talking about their videos and as I recall reading some where the one from Viande Richelieu in Quebec contained false images and was partly false. The Nature

  • @TreasureOne Valley plant was closed due to 25 million dollars of debt and Bouvry is temporarily closed because they are making their plants horse safe. I was responding to the

Video posted here, not the other videos. Her information is incorrect. She's getting both images and information from the states and applying it to Canada. That's a big problem as the plants in Canada are different from those in the states. One country doesn't set the standard of all countries.

  • @MistrusEvi , Oh, please, that old blindly trusting the governments' word, again. In Canada, you can keep ANY animal, in a cage, for it's whole life. Standards of Care? VOLUNTARY. Don't want to fed your animal? A fine, if the judge stays awake long enough. Please don't tell me how humane Canada is. It isn't. Canada likes to THINK so, but really? Notsomuch. We like to make a buck too, and we LOVE to spend money on paper. That no-one reads.Real world is where it's at, Mistrus Evi. Try it sometime.

  • The need for meat is not needed in our society in Alberta, most of our beef is exported. I have horses and have been known to be mesmerized by thier keen sense of "knowing all" They understand, they have thiere own personalaty. They are one to be listened to! A good horse is good to "every one" "A lame horse is good for the soul" What about that horses soul? Can you look and tell the difference? If you can I would like to know. Take care.

  • @ocmeater2010 well the world is a whole lot bigger than just Alberta. Just because the meat does not stay in the particular home of origin does not mean that there is an excess of it. The horses that go through slaughter r not wasted. U might not agree with peoples decision to eat horse meat. But it is there decision. U need to respect that.

  • Does anyone know: I thought hourse meat was now illegal in th US. So we can feed them and slaughter them but not eat them. We send them elsewhere for that?

Or is it okay to let our dogs eat them just not us????

    yuck

  • Canadians have to do better (and, yes, the U.S. too) and more to stop this cruelty. Enough is enough. I have promised all my horses a humane death when the time comes. People who sell horses at auctions get so little for them after all their years of service, but we need inexpensive euthenasia alternatives for those cheapskates. Please consider becoming a vegetarian to end the suffering of many animals.

  • I'm not surprised the very angry and mean Tigerchild86 worked at a horse slaughter plant. He's a great example of the illiterate pukes that would take a job like this. This is where a lot of the most dangerous ex cons out of prison, get work. No one else wants to employ them, and it suits their uneducated, brutal and criminal nature. One of the factors that closed slaughter plants in the US, was a report by the Dept. of Labor, showing they drew violent ex cons into communities.

  • @TreasureOne Respectable people work at Slaughter plants. Your ignorance on the subject is only exceeded by your ignorance of how the world works. People who just got out of jail aren't allowed into slaughter plants. It's common sense you ahve tyo protect the interest of your employees and your business. We are in Canada, not in the states. Please refer to information you find from CANADIAN websites not AMERICIAN. Because we live in CANADA, the 'problem' is in Canada.

  • @BehindTheLiesIsTruth Am I speaking to one of those "respectable" people? Because if you work butchering horses alive, you may not yet be a felon---but you should be tried as if you are. Felons certainly are "allowed" into slaughter plants. And Immigration fast tracks unskilled Asians into work Visas to slaughter our horses. "Respectable" immigrants apply for years to get out of civil wars, political persecution, etc. But these brutes are here within weeks.

  • @TreasureOne Your ignorance, once again, astounds me. Just because I am saying that respectable people work in slaughter houses makes you assume I am a felon or should be one just shows how ignorant you truly are. Horses aren't butchered ALIVE. In Canada, the hoisting of a conscious horse is ILLEGAL. Which means you CAN'T do it. No ifs, ands, or buts. What part of this is not understood? All animals when shot in the head and killed will move after wards.I've been to a butcher shop. It isn't much

  • @TreasureOne different then a slaughter plant. Bang, the cow is down. It is dead. They open the gate to hoist it up, the animal starts kicking and thrashing around. It looks alive! But it ISN'T. The cow is dead, it's muscles spasm after death causing it to look still alive and suffering. This is how I learned about this. The horses aren't butchered alive, they are dead and their muscles spasm after death. Videos captured of it makes them out to be 'Alive'. And immigrants applying for months?

  • @TreasureOne My best friend's father moved here from the Philippines. It took him three weeks to get over here. For his family on the other hand it took months. Big difference there. Not all people who work at shitty jobs like a slaughter house are felons. And it is incredibly ignorant to think so. I bet that if you had to chose between loosing your home and starving, or working in a horse slaughter plant. You would make the decision to work if there were no other jobs available.

  • seeing this compassionate video made me cry. seeing humans suffering doesn't touch my heart anymore. something in my soul is broken. horses are my only reason for living. fuck all of mankind.

  • most Canadians hate to see this happen. In fact all of them accept for the 100 that work at these shitty plants. makes me sick to see this happening.

  • I love horses and I think that they are magnificent animals. I personally would really like to see people go "green" by riding horses in the future. Although I personally would not like to see animal that I have bonded with die, I would not mind "other" horses dying. It's selfish but I don't want to be that nosy, arrogant person who want to go apeshit over other people's tastes and preferences. I prioritize humans over other animals and that's just me.

  • wow Tigerchild1986, I pity your horses & other animals, clearly by your post, you don't see animals as creatures deserving of compassion, they are pigs and cows, not pork and beef. If you took time to eduate yourself you would know that caring people do work to better the lives of cows, pigs & animals that are considered food animals in Canada. Something horses are not & have never been, that is why there are no regulations in place to document the history of the drugs horses are given. duh!

  • I have worked at a hourse slaughter house and know many that still doo. I own horses and cows do u see me copmplaining??? why dont you guys worry about pork beef n chicken seriously protesters like you are idiots

  • because they are not companion animals. Idiots are people that kill animals for the money.

  • @tigerchild1986 seriosuly you should NOT own horses. I'm not a vegetarian, but Iam a rider. And horses were not meant to be eaten. They are meant to be loved and ridden<3 Cows and pigs on the other hand, are a different story. Does it make you feel good that most of teh horses that you've killed were once loved and their lives turned to helll because of you. I certainly hope you are proud of yourself, idiot.

  • @horseloverider1997 How are they different? How is the slaughter of millions of cows and pigs different? They are ALL livestock animals. If it isn't good enough for one then it isn't good enough for all. Do not discriminate against the cows and pigs because they aren't 'pretty', or that they 'don't' have personalities. I had a cow that was worth more than a hundred horses in my eyes because she was the sweetest, funniest cow that I ever had the PRIVLEDGE to have. Hell, I even RODE her!

  • As if this is not bad enough, this year American pro horse slaughter orgs anounced they want to pay BLM $25 - 50 for our American Wild Horses-sell them to killer buyers for $500. This is after our taxes have been spent by BLM to unnecessarily round up healthy horses from healthy Public Lands to make way for more cattle, that we also spend another $125 million a year to subsizdize.

    Do the math!

STOP BLM WILD HORSE ROUNDUPS - STOP WASTING TAX MONEY - FEW GET ADOPTED TO FOREVER HOMES!

  • Truly appalling.

This must stop, horses are the friends of Mankind; they deserve better.

  • Thanks for the information....great piece.

  • So incredibly sad. Thank you for making this.
