i had this issue with my toshiba laptop which ran windows vista i now have an acer laptop running windows 7 aswell which doesnt have this issue but anyways
its almost always a driver issue or an issue with the operating system
try updating or reinstalling drivers for video, audio and BIOS also follow any advice e-machines gives you
@zabitken hey i got a issue with my gf's hp pavilion. It wont shut down when she closes the screen and when she opens it and tries to press any button for the desktop to show nothing shows its just a black screen but the laptop lights are on and there running
Heres how I fixed it on my eMachines e625: My problem was it would go to sleep but when I woke it up it would crash (running Windows 7). I fixed it by unplugging everything before waking it up (so unplug power cord, mouse, external monitor cable etc) and it woke up correctly, then I just plugged everything in again as soon as it was in windows.
I have an emachines e625 and found it wakes up properly when nothing is plugged into it, but fails like this if I have it plugged into something.
So before you wake it up try unplugging the power cord, mouse, external monitor etc and it should wake up correctly. Then as soon as it is awake plug everything back in again :)
Yea I switched mouses lol I was using a Logitech Cordless mouse then I switched to the Microsoft SideWinder X3 corded mouse and never had that problem since. That was like 3 months ago
Hey man I got the same laptop running Win7 x64 and it fails in the same manor as you. I have had different version of Win7 and different versions of drivers for almost anything possible. I had Sleep working in Windows Vista but somehow it keeps failing on me with Win7. I don't really know any fix, but i managed to make it work in something called Tiny7 made by a guy called "eXPerience" who made a custom edition of Win7. Somehow it just works in his edition. You should check it out.
I have seen this on our machines running the x1200 series ATi cards. I think this is a driver issue from ATI. I am updating the driver to latest version to see if the issue re-occurs. Whats wierd is that it does'n't happen everytime it goes into sleep mode. It's very random. Also, if you RDP into the machine from another workstation/laptop, the machine comes out of sleep mode properly.
@MasterBlack18 I've checked in the settings, I've got Hibernate disabled and I've got automatic sleep disabled. This seems to occur when I manually want to enter sleep mode.
I wonder If there's a log where you check ? something like event viewer for sleep ?
