I think the cherry on the cake is when they released the l4d maps onto l4d2, I'm pretty sure it used the l4d engine since my framerate always seems to increase dramatically which if I recall, was said "couldn't be done".

Left 4Dead 2 will basially be the base game from now on. all content from l4d1 is going to be in l4d2. The good thing about Left 4 Dead 2 is that it has better add on support so it will be possible to add more weapons, characters and other things. Plus what is wrong with this happening? L4d2 has better graphics and better gore.so whatever. accept it

The critics say L4D2 has the best graphics. Probably, there might be TWO reasons why VALVE made L4D2. One, they might apply The graphics of L4D2 to HL2 to continue the story. And TWO it would be too hard to put the best graphics in the original game, which the graphics was not really nice (It can be depending on your computer) and it would take a long time for fans to wait, If they would update EVERYTHING in L4D2 to L4D. It would take 5 years. So they made a new one to take less time

Three things to say, One, There's only one thing I hate about Valve, it's that they didn't make DLCs in XBOX. Two, they could make Portal 2 because they might be still on the making of Half-Life 2 Episode 3, so they made another distraction which will go on for years and years or so then they will finish half life. Three, Valve always do their promise. If it is a big thing then it would take long. If it is that short of a bug then it would take days.... So don't worry about anything.

I actually remember participating in that thread that's shown in the video. The problem was Left 4 Dead was MASSIVELY liked, it just needed a few adjustments and bug fixes. Instead of getting them, Valve worked solely on L4D2 which is why so many people were, and some still are, angry. Hell, there are bugs that are STILL in L4D that should have been fixed MONTHS ago. I'm not debating which game is better, I'm talking about how what Valve did was wrong.
Why? because ALL the improvements of L4D2 were promised for L4D1. I purchased L4D with the promise of these improvements. Instead they LIED and started on L4D2 a couple of months after releasing the first game. Valve lost all credibility with me and I won't trust them again.

my opinion: Valve should spend more time updating their games. Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 dead/ LFD 2 are great games, but what the left 4 deads lack is consistent updates. I would love to see them frequently update both games, because Left 4 dead can see so much more, and Left 4 dead 2 seens like a different version than anything. They could branch into different aspects for some diversity.

I bought L4D2, biggest mistake of my life. People who like L4D2 more than part 1 would prefer even Dead Rising 2 or sth....
L4D is better in atmosphere, tension, merely everything...L4D2 is just a piece of software, bunched together, tries to look like L4D1 but fails (sunlight, rofl), and has a few SI thrown into + melee weapons (which are fun for 2-5 min). Not very impressive for 50 $... its even the same game-engine, no better graphics at all.

The thing I miss the most, is the competitive scene. I played (still do rarely) L4D1 as a compet player, frustians, cevo, all the tournaments we played, the compet community was kick ass, we didnt care about DLC or monsters or guns, we liked the fact with a little sourcemod, it made a GREAT game. This is gone with l4d2, a step in the direction of console shit, even the best teams have left L4D1 and 2 because of it. (Eximius etc). Fuck L4D2, fuck consoles, fuck casual gamers, and fuck valve.

The boycott of L4D2 was not to refuse to purchase it but to get Valve to support L4D more so they wouldn't forget about there L4D community and keep adding and supporting the first. The boycott succeeded with the new campaign in L4D.

One note.. If L4D2 has screaming Kids how much more in L4D. Besides there REALLY is a huge difference go to the wiki about L4D2. It says that L4D2 maps mostly doesn't show the real way on to the next area. If you are playing L4D it basically easily. When your L4D2 the first time you were confused on what area to go were you? Plus The melee weps is awesome... Plus better graphics, more weps, more zombies, and shit.... This was all for L4D1 was it? Well they made a new game so it will be organized

They've been making L4D2 for a 2 good reasons. 1 So that they can update a better L4D without spending TOO MUCH TIME! 2 What if they were secretly making a project for Half-Life or Counter Strike? The critics say L4D2 has the best graphics. Probably, there might be TWO reasons why VALVE made L4D2. One, they might apply The graphics of L4D2 to HL2 to continue the story. And TWO it would be too hard to put the best graphics in the original game, which the graphics was not really nice (It can be depending on your computer) and it would take a long time for fans to wait, If they would update EVERYTHING in L4D2 to L4D. Three things to say, One, There's only one thing I hate about Valve, it's that they didn't make DLCs in XBOX. Two, they could make Portal 2 because they might be still on the making of Half-Life 2 Episode 3, so they made another distraction which will go on for years and years or so then they will finish half life. Three, Valve always do their promise. If it is a big thing then it would take long. If it is that short of a bug then it would take days.... So don't worry about anything.

I actually remember participating in that thread that's shown in the video. The problem was Left 4 Dead was MASSIVELY liked, it just needed a few adjustments and bug fixes. Instead of getting them, Valve worked solely on L4D2 which is why so many people were, and some still are, angry. Hell, there are bugs that are STILL in L4D that should have been fixed MONTHS ago. I'm not debating which game is better, I'm talking about how what Valve did was wrong.

my opinion: Valve should spend more time updating their games. Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 dead/ LFD 2 are great games, but what the left 4 deads lack is consistent updates. I would love to see them frequently update both games, because Left 4 dead can see so much more, and Left 4 dead 2 seens like a different version than anything. They could branch into different aspects for some diversity.

I bought L4D2, biggest mistake of my life. People who like L4D2 more than part 1 would prefer even Dead Rising 2 or sth....
L4D is better in atmosphere, tension, merely everything...L4D2 is just a piece of software, bunched together, tries to look like L4D1 but fails (sunlight, rofl), and has a few SI thrown into + melee weapons (which are fun for 2-5 min). Not very impressive for 50 $... its even the same game-engine, no better graphics at all.

The thing I miss the most, is the competitive scene. I played (still do rarely) L4D1 as a compet player, frustians, cevo, all the tournaments we played, the compet community was kick ass, we didnt care about DLC or monsters or guns, we liked the fact with a little sourcemod, it made a GREAT game. This is gone with l4d2, a step in the direction of console shit, even the best teams have left L4D1 and 2 because of it. (Eximius etc). Fuck L4D2, fuck consoles, fuck casual gamers, and fuck valve.

Valve just got a little too ambitious once they started creating new content, they went overboard and ended up with too much content to release for free, it's a business decision.
They will not make promises they can't keep. Those of you apologists just can't seem to understand that they did hit reverse on the dlc, and haven't supported l4d as promised. As it sits now, nobody plays the original game anymore.
The original has it's flaws, which they could fix, also some new dlc would be nice.

1) If you bought L4D just because you thought they will be more stuff to come (which there were) then you are really stupid.
2) Be fucking grateful for the DLC you get, which were free! And the fact the new game doesn't cost you entire year saving, it only costs 50 bucks.
3) all the new stuff make L4D2 feel fresh and new, and yet I have no remorse for buying and enjoying L4D1
point is, the L4D2 boycott is Fucking retarded

1) valve works like this, they finish a core game, release it, then improve it and add new content based on consumer reaction
2)i payed full price for a promise, for many years i did this, and for many years, my faith was rewarded, the DLC we got was a 10 minute campaign that couldnt beat a single one of the fan made campaigns
3)l4d2 is not fresh or new, or did you never actually play the first one?

I have L4D2, it's WAY better than the first. What they added is so much fun. It's far greater with better graphics, there's nothing negative about this new awesome game.

wow ppl who support this group are dooshbags they r making 3/4 more dlcs for l4d1 and loads 4 l4d2 i played the l4d2 demo and it was awesome so if u guys dont want 2 buy it then u guys r fuck tards any way i bet half of u guys dont even play l4d and r just joing for the fuck of it
