I just made this dish. The dehydrator just started. I had some of the leftovers. It is one of the most interesting dish I've yet to have. I can not wait to have it again on the trail. Next time I will not use the spicy BBQ sauce and use the extra spicy seasoning too.
@lcw172 I think you could. The big problem with using sausage is the fat content. You would have to rinse the sausage really well to get it off. Fat doesn't dehydrate well. it also reduces the shelf life of the meal considerably.
What do you think about slow cooked bbq shredded chicken for wraps? I looked around but didn't see any recipes for such. I make Chicken in slow cooker(16oz bbq sauce 1/4-1/2 cup brown sugar and a little vinegar) for four-six hours. Do you think this would workout?
@mugelerm I think it would work out just fine. You will want to dehydrate at a lower temp (145ish). This will help the sugar in the BBQ sauce to dehydrate slower. That will help it to rehydrate better when your ready to eat.
Wonderful! I'm doing this! Oh, and by the way, it's pronounced "wooster" sauce, despite the way it's spelt! I'm from the UK where it's made. Keep up the videos man!
I will probably make this recipe as I have all the others you have posted. A Babelfish recipe is a recipe to be tried. Off topic: how long will Heet be available, inasmuch as gasoline is already 10 percent alcohol, rendering Heet superfluous?
Really like the Dehydrated Backpacking Meals (DBMs) and website; would like to see Nutritional Cards for each Dehydrated Recipe, and the anticipated Storage Life @ 70 degrees. Best regards.
Wow! I have to try this.... Thx

As always, great vid MrB! It's good to see backpacker recipes done by someone who really likes to enjoy trail food and not just save weight/space.
I've never heard of BBQ spaghetti before (I'm a little farther north LOL) but now seeing the recipe I want to try this.
