  • In doing my own business which I can make a decent amount of money off of, I use word of mouth marketing, and other techniques, but I've never had to grab references, and force customers to tell me phone numbers of their friends & family so cutco does sound kind of shady.

  • It may not be a "scam" BUT IT IS manipulative as hell !!! My way of looking at American business is this: If a company is any more manipulative than Wal-Mart, you SHOULDNT trust that company !! Wal Mart is perfect with toeing the line. The knives are very great but their ploy to sell them is shameful !

  • @DrVegasIII What's funny is I've been working with walmart for a year now, & I just got a promotion to CSM... I guess I work with terrible companies huh? Lol.

  • omg i had an interview with cutco today and its a crock of shit they say its 14.75 an hr when they set up the interview and then they tell you its 14.75 an appointment and then they dont consider that the enconomy is shot to shit and aint nobody buying fucking nives its bull shit

  • @jenn23ist Ive sold $25K+ in about 6 months...

  • $18/hr!!! No experience needed! When something is too good to be true, it usually is.

  • Yeah, Cutco's not a scam. I work for them as well. They're pretty good. I like the fact that you can choose when you want to work/take a break when you need to because there are some things that I need to do before I continue on with working. But they're really good. You don't even have to make a sell if you do a presentation. You'll get paid off of your commission.

  • see this is why vector hires high schoool and college students. because they know that these students are dumb enough to fall for there tricks with pay of 14-17 dollars an hour. But not me, I always check whatever I'm gonna buy or go to before I decide if it's good or not. and frankly this is not 4 me. so I'm not going tomorrow.

  • I not going to an interview with them after watching this. I can used this to find a REAL JOB and get payed REAL MONEY doing something that's FOR REAL.

  • If you want to do sales then get into insurance sales. Any moron can sell knives without any experience or qualifications. In the insurance industry, you are taken a bit more seriously because you have to get examed and licensed to sell insurance.

  • Your a retard

  • I love the job....... and I make killer money doing it also :D

  • @Devin2711 in your dreams

  • so i got traning today alot of ppl say its a scam and im hearin other thigns what should i believe?

  • @coderpunk Hi, i see your comment about this topic was 11 months ago, i'm excited to ask you how did it go with you at vector/cutco?

  • i went to the training sessions and it was tourcher...me and the other members were there for 6 hours the first day and 7 hours the 2nd da...without pay and only one break....sitting for hellaz in a hard chair...the even encourage you to bring a pillow to sit on. i sure did...good luck wit that. and please post a follow up on how the job is going.

  • I just got hired saturday 5,2010 at the same place and they said they same exact thing she said..my training starts wens-friday...i heard a lot of bad things about this company but in my opinion i would say " you never know if u like something unless you try" plus this job seems good at the moment since im pregnant and need some money to save up for my baby and a car than an apt soon so ill give it a try but everyone is different..I THINK ITS WHAT U PUT INTO THE JOB THAT WILL MAKE IT WORK :)

  • @UJGP Yea, It's a great opportunity, you just will have to be dedicated. It will NOT be easy as everybody thinks lol.

I know I was tired at those long orientations... lol Whoo, I was dying lol. You will learn a lot of information in a short amount of time. Hope all goes well and you start making good money :)

  • Idk vector!(scam)

  • me too I just got this job, and I don't know anybody around my area I just moved here, does this job mean I have to know people?, does this mean I wont be making anymoney, I mean cutco says they sell themself, waht if I do 20 demos and no one buys the knives will I still get paid, do I hvae to pay for the same knives??????????

  • cut co is not really that bad but It wasn't for me an she was told the knives are free not really what they will tell you is you will pay the deposit if you sale so many you get the keep the knives for free and they give you your deposit back....all well and good...this job is great for someone young not for me.

  • thts not fair tht u didnt hav 2 pay 4 ur sample knifes, & i kno dis it probably really late cuz i did it last summer & we had 2 play 4 ours . my bro did ut & he said he got u kno gnuff muney i guess but i dnt kno bout it since i didnt continue wit it but i hope it wen well 4 u

  • Hey, do you have to know lots of people in order to get to somewhere in the job? I just got hired today and I've been living in my current location for less than 2 years so I'm kinda new. tell me about the social aspect a little. btw, I'm a college student too. :)

  • They way they do things is by having you sell to people you already know, then you obtain references from them. Do you have any friends at school whose parents cook a lot? I guess you just have to network. Professors, uncles, aunties should be more than willing to help, especially if you have a wealthy family (unlike mine... Lol.). But that's all there is really to it.

I just need to warn you though. If you get lazy during the job, it will show through your paycheck.

  • @Srenaj2009 , I know what you're talking about. it's just, I feel kind of embarrassed when I ask people on the phone or on facebook that I wanna meet them at their homes. I don't like getting the reputaion of "he only calls you when he needs money from you" you know whay I mean? idk that's just me. :)

the great thing about the job is that if you don't sell the product you will still get paid for making the appointment itself which is pretty sweet. :)

  • I get you... But they should understand that it's business. Try keeping in touch with them even when you're not working. Maybe that'll make you seem more genuine to them. Just do small stuff like calling and saying hi.

  • Yah sounds like a pyramid scheme to me

  • @Srenaj2009 btw, what happened? are yo still working there?

  • @yadilove818 Ummmm.... Yea, I'm just not gonna respond to your rudeness. And if you say something else I'm just gonna block you. Take a chill pill. :)

  • @yadilove818.... It's about how much work you put into it. This was a couple weeks ago. I got reasonable check for the amount of work I put into it. And the people I sold to were satisfied. That's your problem, not mine.

  • I know right? Lol.

  • u a goof...lol...
