Good rhythm. I would say keep the pick (plectrum), we've played it at a show with both finger picking and naked and the chord changes or any smaller emebellishments, like from GMaj to G7Sus is not as crisp and takes away some of the texture). I've found that a good way to get around the balance between the vocals and guitar (in the absence of a mic) is to palm mute, palm muting some of those down strokes and keeping a soft angle on the up stroke seemed to work for me.
