@Pjor1cp Because it matches the driver's side door controls. It would look stupid matching the others. The passenger is a trim color because it matches that side door. I own one of these. I know this.
Really crh? Cuz my family has had these vans for about 8 years, and guess what? No problem in any of them, so why don't you do us all a favor and go troll someone elses video

Translation not luxurious. I'd expect power sliding doors, power rear hatch, etc. Hopefully the redesigned 2001 version looks better and has those expectations.
I do like that gen of the Chrysler vans but since Lee Iacocca steped down in 93 model year they have been declining in build quality. I do think when Daimler-Benz took control of Chrysler in 1999 model year they pretty much killed what chrysler because Chrysler was known for was the engineering company.Since Fiat has taken control of Chrysler I have aready seen the build quality go up such as the seats in the new 2011s are much more confortable compared to 2010 model line.
@Duratec86 I wonder if they were still making mini conversion vans for that generation? My childhood friend's mom had a 1993 or 94 Plymouth Grand Voyager Conversion Mark III, that thing was loaded, TV, VHS (at that time was cool), and really cool factory lighting.
@mrabhijeet15 The Dodge Caravan and the Plymouth Voyager (later known as the Chrysler Voyager) share the same platform. So the designs are practically identical. It's like a Dodge Stratus vs. a Chrysler Sebring. Same platform, just different trims and branding.
We had the same 1999 town and country from 2000 till 2010 and we never had to buy a new transmission, engine, or motor! The only thing we did have to get repairs on is the a/c! An my mom had a bad accident in it and didn't have a scratch! But sadly it was totaled!
Reving the engine up to 5000 rpm... The higher I ever went is 3000... The engines in these cars are not good. I drove the 96, 03, and 08 dodge caravans and all 3 of them had problems.
@saabkyle04 you're reminding me of that new Caravan commercial "makes ya almost want to have kids" LoL you seem to like this big guy. Van is in great shape though great job as always :-)
@JeremyLikeCorvettes but could have been built in WIndsor Ontario....lol But the did assemble some in the States somewhere....can't remember where though :P
@ihategeneralmotors its the vent that is meant to be more towards the feet (although there is a adjusting thing on the vent to direct it higher or lower-- just another way to improve air/heat circulation throughout the vehicle.
0:27 - I noticed that that is not the correct key fob for the year of the vehicle.
My mom had a 99 T&C Limited just like this one. Drove it until it had 220,000 miles and still had a strong engine and transmission. Sold it for a Pacifica Limited
@Moparman58 maybe with the older town and country's, but my moms was exactly like that one- same year, model, and even color and had the more rounded key fob used until 2004 (for the most part when the key and fob became integrated). maybe 1998 and older had the square old one- but 1999 definitely didn't.
My mom bought one of these In 2000. It was the 1999 gold limited And we had it up on till has year when she was in a bad car accident and the car was throw into a parking lot across the road and she came out with no scratch. Now we have the 2008 town & country limited and love it. This is a good van we never had to get repair on Any major parts only the a/c. Thnx Kyle this brought back great memories.
my family had a 99 lx model, i remember they let choose between a cd player or leather when we were ordering it, lol o how times have changed. in 2004 we ended up turning it in for a fully loaded pacifica,
The new caravan Kyle reviewed last week shows an improvement/big difference in minor/major build details compared to this 1999 model. The caravan has improved a long way over the years but, has it? It does the same tricks....just more highly refined/engineered....,same tricks.....nothing really new but, it does it easier!!!
Well, so far you have a 1st gen Durango, a 2nd Gen Dakota, a 2nd Gen Ram, a 1st Gen Concorde, and a 3rd Gen minivan, now all you need to complete your Chrysler Cab Forward Tour Collection is a 1st Gen Viper, a 1st gen Sebring Convertible, and a 1st Gen Stratus!
though this is a nice van, im not the biggest fan of this style look on the outside.i like the older style, like the 1994 town and country, which i have and still runs great with over 234,100 miles, and it went across country from PA to CA and back without a single problem, this outside body style makes the van look like a bit of a bubble compared to my 94 which looking at this one and mine, mine looks like a box. But its my box and ill be in tears when and if i ever see it go.
We own the lower end version known as the Chrysler Voyager. Reminds me a lot of that car haha. The Voyager also has a SWB compared to the LWB of the T&C. And the Voyager is twice as plasticky.
Nonetheless, the only concern with these vans is the lack of brake-shift interlock and gen 3 seatbelts.
I remember when my family had a Town and Country LXI back in the '90s. The only differences are that the leather wasn't perforated, and the wheel covers weren't as fancy. It was still a nice van though.
Aerostars were good vans, just a little old fashioned even for the 90s. But those and Chevy´s Astro were the only mini vans at their time which could actually tow. They were also based in RWD platforms so they were actually more rugged than competitors. They were also reliable, specially with the 4.0 V6 So I wouldn´t say Aerostars are shit.
@luisinhoens90 I can 100% agree. My Grandmother has a 92 extended wheel base XLT with the 4.0. Not many major problems since my aunt gave it to her with 200,000 miles. (Now has 240,000). The A/C doesnt work, nor does overdrive. lol. But, I love that van!!
My aunt used to have an 86 Aerostar XLT fully loaded with the 2.8 V6. It had Digital clocks and trip computer as well as 2 tone paint. It was very comfortable and it never let them down.
An uncle used to have a 1990 XL with almost no options but it had the 3.0 liter engine and had always been reliable. Its replacement (a 2000 Windstar SEL) wasn´t as reliable, the tranny was gone after 110,000 miles
Also a friend from college has a 1993 Aerostar LWB XLT 4.0 with 230,000 miles
i liked these vans back in the day. i remember i used to have a scale model of this when i was a kid. it was made by maisto if i remember correctly and i remember being really fascinated by the design. this seems to be a pretty loaded trim; those options were pretty sweet to have back in 1999, and you can tell this one was taken care of well by the previous owner(s).
Our 1999 Plymouth Voyager is still going strong with about 127,000 miles on it. Went all the way from Alabama to Washington State with no problems. Pretty good car, though not the most enjoyable to drive in my opinion.
@saabkyle04 Not that I'm sure you haven't thought of it, if you ever find a Chrysler M body as in a Chrysler 5th Avenue, Dodge Diplomat, and Plymouth Grand Fury, do a tour. If you are able to and have the time. Just a suggestion.
@19thebigone95 Those little holes you see incorporated into the seat design. Usually manufacturers do that when the car comes equipped with cooled seats or they just want to make it look sporty.
Brother, when you enter in the Vehicle, close the door before you start the engine please, this way we can know how much the car is quiet inside, to get started.

@19thebigone95 Those little holes you see incorporated into the seat design. Usually manufacturers do that when the car comes equipped with cooled seats or they just want to make it look sporty.

Brother, when you enter in the Vehicle, close the door before you start the engine please, this way we can know how much the car is quiet inside, to get started.
thank you.
