Use the excavator to make the tree fall certain way, its really safe and important to use a machine in this kind of situation, and what are you gonna pick the tree up with? I dont see a skidder?

I always cut stumps as low as I can, dont need leverage, it only takes more space up when it gets hauled off.

Pants would be a good idea. The saw got the job done fine.  You´ve got to leave a tall enough stump to give the machine some leverage on the stump.
