i tried this when i made a code selected it and exited the game and i tried to open the folder were all my action replay codes for super mariio64 ds it went into a lock and wouldn't open the folder so i had to delete the folder and start over how do i prevent this from happening again

@mario74301 I don't know if that exact code would work (I think the coin counter breaks after a certain amount), but you can try. You'll have to figure out Action Replay code types... the online Trainer Toolkit manual goes over them pretty well. Just google "trainer toolkit manual pdf" and it will be the first result.

@TriforceOfKirby You'll have to learn code types... but even then, it'll be a very long code, would probably slow down the frame rate, and only work when you're loading a new area. It's a lot of trouble, if you ask me. XD

@goomba4001 I'm not really sure, the title screen instead of showing one star it showed about 30, then when I went into the save as normal, the code, which I changed for a bigger effect, worked, so I turned it off for additional changes. I wentinto the action replay and it said something about a corrupted code everytime I attempted to enter the mario 64 file. I already deleted it because I doubted time would change anything, so I just deleted and resrtarted the code file.

On the final strategy, be EXTREMELY careful...I just finished doing a bunch of codes, I tried making an edited version of smoke shoes, it worked as I planned, but when I went to go to my codes...entire mario 64 file formatted.

@TheVidmaster007 Did you have the weird beta intro, too? (The one where you have to touch the star to start.) I've had that happen to me twice, but thankfully they reverted back to normal after a day or two. If they don't revert back, well... It's a good thing the Action Replay comes with all of those Star codes. :)

@GlitchShark No serious warnings as far as I know, but it would probably be a good idea not to save when one you're testing is activated. You can add D2000000 00000000 to the end if you want, but it's not completely necessary, and won't have any change on the effect of the code at all.

@anjalina2000 0204 code won't always work, so it's best just to make a new one. Experimentation and patience is the key with Action Replay. :P If you can't get any good codes, try making these for starters:

@Rikimaru735 Oh. Well, with the program, you can export a file with all the addresses in it, and open it with another file which decodes it into plain English. You can search for text in there, and it's really cool. Search "luigi" or something, and a ton of different addresses come up that effect Luigi. It's pretty sweet.

@RereAndRerun Yeah. d2 codes are really only for complex codes, and are totally unnescecary for codes that start with 0, 1, and 2. They are helpful when running many codes at once though- they help make the Action Replay not glitch up so much, so they aren't totally useless.

"d2000000 00000000" really isn't necessary for 0204 codes so much... try each one of the 0204 codes individually, they might be reacting with each other.

It's really frustrating, I know. BUT. To make some really fun yet really easy codes, try putting digits in the X's, these codes always seem to have good stuff in them...
