Please keep us updated with future videos about the bushamavilles.
The era of full employment is over. From now on, we will see bushamavilles with disenfranchised Americans, who can no longer conceal their poverty.
Having grown up in the 3rd World, I am surprised that so many people here are shocked to see slums. In 3rd W. slums, they cannot even afford tents, but we are neither shocked nor concerned.
National Employment Law Project says, "Starting this month, significant numbers of workers will reach the end of these extensions, with the numbers growing significantly in(((( August and September)))) to many hundreds of thousands."
Unemployment.....does anyone have any idea what parameters or criteria they used in the Great Depression to calculate the unemployment rate? I'm familiar with U3, U6 and some of the criteria the use now. I'm trying to get a feel for comparing unemployment then and now and whether I'm comparing apples and oranges. PS - has everyone seen the videos with David Walker (former comptroller).
Is whats shown in this video the goverment's fault or ours? I mean when it was good then everyone was ok with the goverment, now thats bad it their fault?
funny you make it sound like that, people like VV knew this was the coming reaction to the actions the gov has made in the past to make it so "good"
there were many people who knew this is what it would come to, hell even our founders were quoted warning us of the consequences if our government took these kinds of actions
Because if it's the goverment's fault when it's bad, and also the goverment's resposibility when it's booming, when is it then the PEOPLE'S responsibility?
Some of us have no ground to stand on because we simply let others or the goverment take responsibility when things were prosperous and confortable.
Big govt is born from a population that is drug and alcohol addicted, over entertained and stimulated with comedy and foolishness and pornography and leisure. If you want small govt, build a population of obedient children, sober minds with intelligence and goals. We have raised a population of children that are none of the above or are in the minority. Big govt is created by the people because of the people.
We all have this misconception that men are bound together by country and patriotism, that is a bunch of hogwash.
What is an American that we use so loosely as if its been defined in the scriptures. Poverty is not born from govt regulations or agendas, but from lack of foresight, preparation, work, study, fortitude, intelligence and sobriety. You show me a man with these attributes and I'll show you a self sufficient, wealthy and stable individual. Men do not need pity or welfare or excuses
yes, tell that to the auto workers who lost thier jobs, thier pensions, thier investments, the massive teacher layoffs due to budget cutbacks, and others who have lost almost everything. You make it sound as if everyone has 20 acres and a farm...this is the 21st century...ignorant post dude.
You just made my point, you are talking about the two biggest unions in the US who have destroyed the automotive industry and put public schools almost last world among developed countries. Don't defend people who bite the hand that feeds them. Autoworkers and teachers need to join the free market and they would soon find out their skills aren't worth the price and those retirement funds and healthcare and other perks
Good....and you just verified mine, what about the 4.5 million who have lost thier jobs that were not in a union....???? You can't generalize a situation like this, and throw everyone in the same catagory. A downturn that throws 500,000+ out of work every month does not fit your narrow catagorization of people's situations
This is my only point, A well educated and informed society does not have or need big govt. Govts grow when the population has become ignorant, lazy, uneducated, unskilled and needy. This population has been watered down with illegal and legal immigration of unskilled labor. Children born out of wedlock being raised in poverty, drug addiction and the list goes on. When a population descends to third world levels of illiteracy, then these times are inevitable.
agreed....over-all,the american population has become complacant and ignorant, a dangerous combination that has led us into this mess. The continued push for liberal social support programs without accountability, ilegal immigration and wreckless government spending has played a major role in our current situation, not to mention greed and corruption, we definatly have found common ground on that issue.
Spurgeon123 - Um, I hope you will excuse the interruption here, but aren't "labor negotiations" on behalf of workers a PART of the "free market" system?
And BTW, haven't ALL TYPES of workers lost over 50% of their "retirement savings" by means of the equity market in the past year?
When people became "needy" in the crash of '29, was that the fault of the "unskilled and uneducated"? I highly doubt it! BTW, (to paraphrase) "illegitimate children we will have with us always."
When any population trusts a private cartel (Federal Reserve) with the power to control the money flow and interest rates of a free society, it shows that the populous is out of touch and uneducated with their Constitutional rights, economics, human nature and the list goes on. Power always brings corruption and what are we doing today, we are turning over more power to the same govt that bankrupt this country in 29' Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on America
Better thank the current President too!!! He`voted right along with Bush's spending bills.A list of Obama's advisors includes Frank Raines, Tim Howard, Jim johnson, all men who help drive Fannie mae in the dirt but all created Golden Parachutes by "cooking the books" The "one" is certainly as guilty as anyone else, but thats the past. What he is doing now is what I am concerned about!!
The whip was cracked under Bush..no doubt about it, this is Bush's disaster...by the time Obama came to power, the system was destroyed, Bush's ignorance destroyed america...period
lol bush didnt destroy America hahahaha, he maybe sucked pretty damn bad a sped up the process of americas fall but he alone is not to be blamed for this, this mess goes back nearly a century maybe even a little longer
"The whip" was first cracked under the Clinton Admin, forcing Fannie & Freddie to give "affirmative action loans" to the unqualified, including illegals with NO SSN's.
This bill called CRA, Community Reinvestment Act (1977) was signed into law by the Carter admin.
Obama (then atty & community organizer) used ACORN as his vehicle to enforce CRA, who used strong arm tactics against the bankers:
A President cannot destroy the economy unless nhe has a congress that goes along.. Bush spent way to much for this conservative, however the bunch you call "change" joined right in there. Obama is Bush on steroids and will stifle growth with his deeply religious climate change theology.
You ain't seen nothing yet....just wait til obama's cap and trade passes the Senate...many more will struggle to survive life...even to afford electricity will be an upper class luxury....You ain't seen nothing yet!!!
Guess what....people who depend on just jobs and what the tv says you have to have deserves to live in a tent and get a dose of reality!!! That's 90% of our societies problem, no one truly knows how to TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES!! Look at the size of the average American, FAT! LAZY! AND DO NOTHING BUT COMPLAIN!! When the grocery stores close don't come knockin on my door, my pit bulls don't like sharing!!! When is everyone gonna wake up?????? America is doomed because of total laziness!! SIMPLE
Fed Chairman Sees Possibility Of 'Jobless' Recovery: Shelby
Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke sees the possibility of continued high unemployment even after the recession eases, a key Republican lawmaker who met with the Fed chief told CNBC.
"It was a rather sobering meeting," Sen. Richard Shelby, an Alabama Republican, said in a live interview. "I said...'Could this be a jobless recovery?'and he said it could be," Shelby said
Jobless RECOVERY? Is this part of the new ad campaign War is peace?
Please re-read The Grapes of Wrath. The federal government set up well run camps that provided safety, clean water and sanitation for the homeless. Before the federal government stepped up, the camps were raided by local and state cops that burned the camps to the ground and beat the homeless.
Hooverville, Obamatown, Bushburgs We have learned nothing.
California has always attracted the homeless because the weather is perfect for living outdoors. Someone should check out the tenet cities in northern states where winter is going to kill people. There are homeless people everywhere based on the foreclosure numbers. Hopefully families are looking after other families.
very sad ....i never thought id see the day in America where the homeless were everyday working people and their families...instead of drug addicts, drunks and the insane....
Could you imagine this being reported in the old communist paper PRAVDA during the cold war...dont you know our enemies are loving it...
The state or the county must be allowing this? who is paying for the servies ie.....trash collection/ porta potties? Don't get me wrong I am glad these people have a place to go but it could get worse if tptb decide not to allow them to stay. Also atleast there in so cal you guys have decent year round weather, in many states the winters in a tent city could be very challenging. The churches need to step up to the plate and do as Christ commanded. The mission field is in our back yard.
Think everyone should be real concerned about those that have been unemployed for a long time now, soon to lose the benefits they've been getting. Millions...
Bet the jerks that aided the housing bubble are getting their three squares a day.
These are the cries of a constituency that feels disenfranchised — by the powerful and the well-educated who gamed the housing bubble, by a news media it keeps being told is hateful, by the immigrants who have taken some of their jobs, by the African-American who has ended a white monopoly on the White House.
This video makes me so sad BUT we are reaping what we have sowed. As a country we have looked the other way too long, we have ignored our resposiblities to our children and our communities far too long.... this is our reward. People living in tent cities is not the problem it is a result of the US people allowing a small group of powerful men to rule them.
The only thing necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.
Thomas Jefferson said, "If the America people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currencies, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their prosperity until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
why are you so focused on America - especially if you hate it so much? Perhaps you should look in the mirror - the UK? now there's a joke worth a LOL!
Erm... because your tv lies to you when it says "it's worse outside the usa"!
We DON'T have tent cities in the UK. We don't have hungry people without healthcare. We don't have a faltering economy. Do keep up. It's July2009 and the UK and European economies are in MUCH better shape than the usa. GO LOOK AT THE FIGURES, DUMMY! Try OECD CLI. It shows the usa is the worst economy. Your nation died, idiot!
Live in the UK? You have no legal guns in your homes, and the goverment manages "all" aspects of your life. The concept of houses if foreign to you, except those with $ that live in the country side. The rest of you live in apartments, oh excuse me, flats. Yes you are wonderfull "civil servants". Europe lives by compromise. They go along to get along. They are good at one thing though, starting world wars that America has to finish for them, and then hand them $ to rebuild. Big mistake!
It's a bit rich to suggest WWII was a European-made problem when the usa bankrolled Hitler into power... Didn't know that, hur? Didn't tell you that on your tv, hur?
Try reading "Wall St and the Rise of Hitler" Anthony Sutton 1976. Eyeopener. Not conspiracy. Historical documented facts from us and german financial records.
You don't know the half of your country's evil, pal!
Not really. I'm sorry you aren't aware of the truth.
Much of the UK Treasury's & BOE's apparent increases, the ones which the press are quick to point out, are computational ONLY & have not been translated into money supply.
The amounts are only set aside values which haven't actually been created but are shown on the country's balance sheet because of the way in which the UK's accounting procedures work. They are now, because things are IMPROVING, unlikely to be used.
England is the original evil empire, Americas evil is a trait inherited from you! I think maybe you are still sore over that whole 1776 thing. Try brushing your teeth, it might improve your disposition!
So america is evil... We agree on somethings then.
How can I be sore over something that happened 300+yrs ago? I'm not an american who live in the past... I hate america for the wickedness it is doing now, last year, tomorrow, as it continues to starve Africa via its economic control of the poor there and because this american financial disaster affected countries outside the usa.
Please try to join the rest of us in the 21st century soon...
You are correct I am a "dummy" but try watching someone in your own country talk about the UK economy - like FEVERIAM. Perhaps you are the one that is delusional. I know much more about the US economy AND the Eurpoean economy than you can pretend to know. I know where we are and where we are going. I have never made a statement that the US is better or worse off than anyone. Just what "figures" are you looking at? Typical uneducated troll throwing out insults - its ok, I can take it.
You may not have tent cities in the UK but you have over 300,000 homeless. No I didn't hear this on "tv"....it is on a UK website called crisis(dot)org(dot)uk I would also like to recommend a video by Daniel Hannan MEP: The devalued Prime Minister of a devalued Government. Just google it.
You Brits are in a Bunch of trouble...no different from any other country with socialism knocking down the economies everywhere!
I don't care much for Brown either... nobody here voted for him... he inherited the country after Billy Liar f*cked off for pastures new!
myangels7; we are not talking about the 'normal' population of any nation... they are ALWAYS with us.
I am talking about the *NEW* american tent cities of foreclosed losers resulting from the usa's collapse. Try changing the issue to something you know something about, kid.
If your are right about America, then I would not be surprised if they attack England next. You are not a civilian armed nation. It should be easy! They'll just wait until your at the park n bark. You silly bastards.
Try it, primitive, and will will set fire to your children's faces and burn your hovels to the ground! Ever seen what a modern airburst can do to a city?
Better yet, pray we don't light a high-altitude high-gamma warhead over the Eastern seaboard and turn part of your poverty-striken nation into Somalia in terms of working electrical equipment!
I got popcorn. I got a tv. I got a comfy chair to enjoy it from. Push us, pauper!
the real deal. Here in Australia when one hears the latest estimations for the homeless population, it's hard to believe. Homeless people are generally very discrete, you don't realise how many are about. The figures are an ongoing statistic. I have not know of a "tent city" due to the current economic climate. I do suspect Australia is close receiving a wake-up call though. Steven Keen provides the best data regarding Australias subprime-like woes..
it might just be a camping site or something, but never the less jobs in the united states are droping not to mention the dollar who its about to just explode with inflation.
I think you did the right thing. I know people in Ohio who are close to the same scenerio as the people in S. Cal. These are people and not a bunch of stats.Thank you for what you do.
I'm trying to get more information on the crash of 1920 and how quantitative easing and stimulus packages were not used, and it was over in two years.
kancerzx: do you honestly think that anyone elected in November of 2008 could have done much about a crisis that's been evolving since before most of us were even born? It's been coming for decades. I found footage right here on YouTube of Ron Paul predicting exactly what's happening now way back in the 70's.
Commercial Real Estate Is a Time Bomb, Maloney Says July 9 (Bloomberg) -- The $3.5 trillion commercial real estate market is a ticking time bomb that may lead to a second wave of losses at large U.S. banks, congressional Joint Economic Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney said.
About $700 billion in commercial mortgages will need to be refinanced before the end of 2010 and doing nothing is not an option, Maloney, a New York Democrat, said at a committee hearing today.
There were 5,315 commercial properties in default, foreclosure or bankruptcy at the end of June, more than twice the number at the end of last year, with hotels and retail among the most problematic, Real Capital Analytics Inc. said in a report yesterday. Losses on commercial mortgage-backed securities, or CMBS, will total 9 percent to 12 percent of the market, or as much as $90 billion, said Richard Parkus, a research analyst for Deutsche Bank Securities in New York.
We've officially hit 2nd world status and we are rapidly heading for 3rd. If we make it past 2010 without the system collapsing from under our feet, then the U.S. dollar ponzi scheme has held fast during it's toughest hour. Let's hope for the latter!
Daniel it's great to see you making vids again! If you come anywhere near Baltimore you will see me there with a drove of family and friends im STILL trying to wake up! How's your wife doing with the pregnancy? Hope all is well! Cheers from MD!
Uhmm ok could it be possible that just perhaps maybe SOME are living in tents because they take to a view of oh how to uhmm say this... a hippie /gov. welfare way of life. MAYBE SOME not all might be alcoholics and/or drug addicts. Also might SOME NOT ALL be mentally ill.
There are many reasons why people find themselves on the street-- as many reasons as there are disfunctional people. Who can help someone that can't/won't help themselves? A tent city is a safe place.
I tried to help a neighbor who was evicted due to the rental being foreclosed on. He is now living in a RV down the street and his stuff is parked in my front parking area. His family can't help him, and he doesn't want to work because he would loose his favored situation-- SS and Section 8.
The neighbor requires $400/mo he says for pot to help him get through his discomfort. I offered to rent a room to him under section 8 but he wanted more money from the county so he had additional pot money. I refused to lie to the county for him and then he lost his voucher because he didn't move quickly enough. I did what I could, but in his foot-dragging to make the best deal for himself lost him a roof to live under-- well, an RV does have a roof. I can see him eventually in a tent city.
Skyding, you might have a point, but if too many people fall on the net, eventually it's going to break. IMO, welfare won't be able to sustain 12% unemployment (official number).
of course, not all are middle class. But to be honest, I run a homeless ministry in Southern Cal. And the people I saw walking around were not the typical homeless I see living under freeways.
A sociopath ends up doing more damage to their own lives. Since they can't care about others, they can't care about themselves either. They fall victim to self-loathing and self-abuse ie. addictions. They get some sense of power over those who reach out to assist. They are victimizers who end up victimizing themselves, along with those who help to save them.
I'd rather live in a tent or a storage unit than indenture myself to another citizen. Freedom is a simple lifestyle.
didn't feel it was right at the time. After being down in the dumps, I don't know if I would want someone putting me on video. Thats why I kept my distance.
I can't wait until the government gets all ansi and tries to kick those homeless people out of that land, and then those people finally snap and break out the uzi's and blow away droves of government workers.
We are not that bad economically yet. Maybe really soon? These people shown are deadbeats. That were 1 minute away from that lifestyle to begin with. I know because some of the same class worked for me last year. Until the bubble popped!
P.S. Take a trip to S.E. Asia. These people shown in your video are filthy rich!
Death Tolls Compare to Iraq as Number of U.S. and NATO Forces Surge; Criticism of War in U.K. Heats Up
A series of attacks in Afghanistan has left 4 U.S. Marines and eight British soldiers dead in recent days, stoking concern among U.S. and allied forces over a surge in battlefield deaths, as thousands of troops pour into the country.
I have 2 questions: Why are two bankrupt nations waging war half way across the planet? What are our objectives?
It's unclear, really, unless one trusts the official propaganda. But I wonder what real reaons for these wars are cited in strategy meetings that occur behind closed doors. I'm reminded of Socrates' observation: "All wars are fought for money."
Our objective is to protect our freedom. That's what I've been told here on youtube, so it must be true.
I'm not sure how it works, but somehow, if we quit killin' 'em, even for a second, they'll escape and cause no end of problems here.
They'll probably rig our voting machines, or monetize our debt, or put securitized debt in all our pensions, or put up roadblocks and ask for our papers, or , umm, umm, never mind
Obama is saying that things are getting better, but from what I and my family and friends have seen, they just keep getting worse. I wonder what he's looking at. Better for him, maybe.
Obama's looking at it from his perspective, which is to usher in the NWO system. So when he says it's getting better, it is for him and the people he works for. He does not work for our people, he works for his people.
The main stream media is avoiding this story like the swine flu. Yet is one of the most important stories around right now.
There was a Hoover ville set up across from the White House during the 1930's. Hoover ordered it be cleared. The Colonel that cleared it was Douglas McArthur and his assist on the task was Major Eisenhower. This Hooverville included many homeless veterans of WW1 and several were shot dead by U.S. troops during the removal of the tent city.
Those people have been there for 2 years. They haven't even admitted new people in over a new year. Nonstory for now. Until we see tent cities in every city its a nonstory.
Northern Cal just did one a few months ago. They also have people with RV's parked all over the place, I didn't want to dis-respect them, so I kept my distance.
If your talking about the one in sacramento, those people all had been there since the beginning of the recession if not before. It got shut down a few weeks ago.
As long as unemployment benefits last 1 year and 5 months now, the unemployed are going to be laughing all the way to the bank. Us self employed and small business owners don't get unemployment, why should they?
Your right. I just hate this George4title style of reporting where you make something local and old news look like its a widespread and happening at the moment.
Case in point, George4title in his latest video rants about mendota. They been like that for YEARS.
that guy (g4t) is so full of shit its not even funny. dont dare say a would about him. he'll delete you and ban you from his page. this is what he does all the time..
so just agree with him and send him money..LMAO
but ya skyding...its us smart people who can read lots of this bullshit they TRY to feed us..
The one in providence has popped up in the last year to 6 months. And it has been growing. I'm sure you can find local news stories on it if you google or youtube it. I'm sure the same goes for Michigan and the other double digit official government unemployment report states.
No tent cities in Texas, but then Texas is not a liberal state that has taxed its citizens to death on top of the Obama affect. I'd be willing to bet that tent cities will only appear in vast liberal meccas.
Yours is actually not a bad idea. It doesn't diminish the injustice that bred the tent cities in the first place, but - it does contribute food, and might give some in the tent cities more of a sense of purpose, and maybe a sense of community.
Very interesting; have not seen this in NY.. I have seen some homelessness in Bradenton Florida. In NY real estate has yet to adjust; this does not make sense until you realize that the all these financial bailouts have slowed down the inevitable. Great Video. I would appreciate if you would talk about the type of dislocation we are going to get. I have mentioned it a few times in my video's but its a hard message to sell. (as it does not want to be believed.)
I just wish we had a tentville in our area so there was somewhere to park without worrying about the police pestering you.

Much of the UK Treasury's & BOE's apparent increases, the ones which the press are quick to point out, are computational ONLY & have not been translated into money supply.
The amounts are only set aside values which haven't actually been created but are shown on the country's balance sheet because of the way in which the UK's accounting procedures work. They are now, because things are IMPROVING, unlikely to be used.
But the usa is doomed.

His family can't help him, and he doesn't want to work because he would loose his favored situation-- SS and Section 8.
carefulcarpenter 2 years ago

And the people I saw walking around were not the typical homeless I see living under freeways.
visionvictory 2 years ago
A sociopath ends up doing more damage to their own lives. Since they can't care about others, they can't care about themselves either. They fall victim to self-loathing and self-abuse ie. addictions. They get some sense of power over those who reach out to assist. They are victimizers who end up victimizing themselves, along with those who help to save them.
I'd rather live in a tent or a storage unit than indenture myself to another citizen. Freedom is a simple lifestyle.

Yeah. People aren't losing jobs or anything....ok

Your right. I just hate this George4title style of reporting where you make something local and old news look like its a widespread and happening at the moment.
Case in point, George4title in his latest video rants about mendota. They been like that for YEARS.
