Does everyone not realize that the "head hitting" rule was just instated less than a year ago? Back in these days it was perfectly acceptable to target another players head with a shoulder check, especially if they are in the neutral zone/crossing their opponent blue line with their head down, and Stevens was definitely not the only one doing it back then.

@gadeela: The Lindros hit is indeed a contact to the head and the Kariya is a late hit, although I doubt it was a head-contact. There are other clean hits he has though- Francis and Willis come to mind immediately. Nonetheless, you have to acknowledge how the rules were in the era he played in before you term him a dirty hitter.

This was such a big time too, 2001 game 7 of stanley cup playoffs, after Devils won the cup the year before, and still during the Roy vs. Brodeur Rivalry.

To be fair, missing Forsberg definately played a role in the outcome. But in the end i mean colorado had a DISGUSTING roster: Bourque, Blake, Foote, Drury, Tanguay, Hejduk... topped off with Roy, Forsberg and Sakic.. that's some HAGGARD lineup right there. Wonder what would have happened if Claude would have been apart of it (either on COL or NJ- lol)
