I saw the concert at Yankee Stadium on 7/16/11 and guess I just can't get enough. Not sure how a man 69 y/o does what he does with the current tour, 2011!
With Beatles in mind, the posted video, "40 Years of History in 3 Minutes" is a fast-paced music montage set to GET BACK and GLASS ONION capturing historic landmarks, 8mm film antics of the time and The Beatles' rooftop performance. Enjoy!
after lookin at this show ... i think this is the best solo performance of any musician ..and also MR MACCA is the best musiscian in the whole universe
Listen I'm American, and if you came here to comment on Britain vs America your just out of your mind. I don't care if your American, British, Japanese, Chinese, whatever, Paul McCartney is arguably the greatest musician alive and if you don't get chills watching this video there's something wrong with you.
who mix's his sounds, its always unbalanced. for example there is a definite clash on frequencies with symbols and one of the guitars. hurts to listen too. good performance and great reception from the crowd, just paul mccartney is potentially the greatest songwriter living, just seems odd that he has bad sound engineers when doing live shows. its not just Glastonbury, almost every show ive seen him play
The best classic ever!! last year I saw Paul live and I just cried when he played this classic song, I wouldn't believing that I was there <3 I hope all the beatlemaniacs can see him someday too, that was the best day of my life xx
I was at this and the goosebumps return watching this. 80,000 people walking slowly back to their tents singing this spontaniously un-accompanied was one of the great moments of my life. Just amazing. Best pop song ever!
I read when he gets to the part "the movement is on your shoulder" he gets chocked up sometimes in public because - at first, he didn't like that line, but John told him to keep it in, because he liked it... So when he sings it, he thinks of John...
@CharIiePresents I live in Canada. I have a british kid in my class. He's so stupid, and incredibly immature for his age. I don't know what else to say. Fucking brits.
@CharIiePresents you said britain is better than america, at certain things that is correct. But overall? Just look at the revolutianary war, industrial revolution, and pretty much every year from 1776 to the time obama got elected.
I Just lOVE ME A BRIT ACCENT. GO FISH'N CHIPS PEOPLE!!! WOOOOHOOOO OH YEAH!!! IMAGINARY LIGHTER!! *swings* OH NO ITS BURNING SOMETHING!! AHH WELL!! lolz
im so sad i was born in 1994 rather than 1964. the golden decade for most things especially music. oasis are the only thing to come close to what was produced then.
@Gregorious94 oasis? you're joking right. I'm much gladder to be in this generation we can listen to all the greats from the past and also get the benefits of all there influences in modern music. Oasis are extremely overrated definitely maybe is a great album but everything since has been mediocre there are a lot better bands around now.
This defined Glasto '04 for me, and i'm returning this year after a 6 year absence. Defining moment up for grabs! The Flaming Lips? Muse? Hot Chip? Florence and the Machine? Parliament? Stevie fucking Wonder?!?! Betting it's the last one, woop!
I was there!!! Awesome moment Mr. McCartney!! Remember thanking God with each blessed second that passed, you made my childhood wish come true!! Keep on rockin'!! xxxxx
This is great song... so what? I am talkin not about the song but about the guy who is booooring. Nothing more nothing less. One soundly composed new song per a decade could be better for such an artist than singing same good songs. As his fan I expected more, than only watching him changing ukulele, bass or piano...
Paul wrote this song for Julian Lennon when John was breaking up with Cynthia. He was worried about Julians future. Julian Lennon actually said in an interview that Paul was more of a father to him than John, and there were more photos of him playing with Paul as a child then there were of him with John. John actually said (something like) "He came out of a whisky bottle from a Saturday night" which Julian admitted that it effected him greatly. Poor Jules. Paul is a truly wonderful person.
As a big fan of The Beatles I am a bit disappointed, that sir Paul is still singing same old songs. Not because those songs are bad - they are actually the best songs in the world, but I expect him to compose something new. Singing the same "na na na... hey Jude" is a bit boring.
I'm one of those thousands of people singing along. Best gig experience I've ever been to and I've been back to Glasto 3 more times since then, and nothing's quite equalled that one song.
They do not hate them! Jeeze. They hated the experience they had but they never hated a whole people. If you think that you missed the whole point of the Beatles. Sorry.
The Beatles don't HATE Filipinos, even though that idiot Marcos and his b**** of a wife nearly got them killed. Serves the s.o.b. right he died of Lupus. Too bad she didn't suffer the same fate.
I was there, it was good to see a Beatle at Glasto but even then his voice was cracking, not his voice is awful live - painful to listen to, Beatle or not.
