I found a Keyboard called Yamaha Motif XS7 for 2,000 on Amazon you should check it out. Its also portable unlike the Hammond. They have some good youtube videos of that Keyboard. I might get that in the future but I just got the Concord so I will try to make it sound Jazy
@TheNorthernSoulKing Thanks but I don't want any Hammond substitute. I bought my L122 and Leslie because I wanted "the sound" which cannot be given by other keyboards like Yamaha or Roland. Concorde probably has one feature that makes it sound not jazzy - and that it percussion. As far as I know the percussion is triggered differently and to me it sounds horrible. Concorde is more of a theatre organ. Good for Barry Morgan perhaps.
I did not know anyone had a video for this. Great playing. I have a Hammond Concord can you tell me the drawbar settings on the Concord if you know? Thank you
@TheNorthernSoulKing Hi, I have other videos showing how to play it as well as music sheet (but it's the only song I've got the sheet for). The original drawbar setting would be something like 888080000 or even 666080000 for upper manual and 008800000 for lower manual.
@gietek Do you know of a site that gives drawbar settings for the Concord Hammond? I found one for B3 hammond but not concord. What type of organ are you playing?
@TheNorthernSoulKing The drawbars in Hammond organs are always the same except for few LSI models that have additional two drawbars for higher harmonics (like Hammond X-66).
Depending on the kind of music you want to play you may actually consider buying a real tonewheel Hammond like A-, B-, C-, M-, T- or even L-series.
@TheNorthernSoulKing If you want to play blues, jazz or rock then you should probably get one of the organs I mentioned above. If you have money - buy a console (A100, B3, C3) otherwise look for a spinet (M100, M3, T-series or L100). Depending on what you like - big manuals, pedals, good vibrato, etc you can find the right Hammond for you. I bought the wrong organ (L122) but I got around it by modifying it.
Hi, gietek. Congratulations from Argentina. Don`t hesitate that as profes. musi I was, never heard some excellent version as this. Are you playing the complete scales, notes, disonances, and more. My best regards from Argentina, adn excuse my bad english. Willy
can you PLEASE re shoot this video from a different angle.(so I can see what keys you are bangin on?) I really really want to learn it...and thats how I learn.
You should offer your services to Arthur, seriously. He's still playing, and desperately needs a real organist....and YOU are the man. You have the shit! If you had a Hammond B3 and played it with the right settings, no leslie, and overdrove the shit out if it for the right tone, you'd be deadly. Where are you located? You ROCK!
Thanks! I don't think Arthur wants to play electro-organish music like he used to many years ago.
I think but I'm not sure that he enjoys singing with only accoustic Nick Pynn. Shame but that's his choice.
Anyway - I would never go and perform with such a great artist. In the other hand it would be very nice to see him together with B3 crazy organist and mad drummer doing crazy stuff again.
Then listen to my tribute to Pink Floyd and Atom Heart Mother. I spent over a week to put all the notes of brass and choir into MIDI program. That was a nightmare!
Wonderful!
(Though the appropriate word for Arthur Brown's style would be "marvelous")

@TheNorthernSoulKing Huh? Both B3 and Concorde have the same drawbar setting, don't they? What's the problem?

@TheNorthernSoulKing Oh I thought differant organs had differant drawbar settings for the same song?

don't buy it :)

Can I ask why you say "dont buy it"? Are they no good?
JBriggs1987 2 years ago
No good at all.
Artificial sound, no chorus vibrato, lame Leslie simulator, plastic overdrive and keyclick.
I guess when you put it through Leslie it may sound a bit better.
