i am astonished why people are disliking it,,, its great video,,, i have seen many videos but By God now i knew that what happens when we press the clutch
Brilliant video. contrary to all those budding mechanics out there, It's a basic enough explanation for someone learning to drive to know what a clutch does. It doesnt have to bog them down with technical detail. You understand what a clutch does then you'll be better informed on how to control it. It's a great training aid for someone who's never sat in a car before. It's not a machanics lesson. It shows what happens when you press a clutch pedal in it's most basic and easy to understand form
That is certainly not how a clutch works. If you were trying to make a video to simplify the *concept* behind how a clutch works, you had to specify. Now you have got who knows how many thousands of people thinking they actually know the mechanics behind a car clutch, who couldn't be more wrong.
@wolterh6 this video shows that the engine gets married to the road wheels. How simple is that? How about YOU specify where it is wrong. And if you could improve your grammar I might understand your argument a little easier.
@alanquarendon Dude, he's argument was legitimate and there was nothing wrong with his grammar. This animation really does not show any remote detail on how clutch works.
Seriously? Its a simple animation to help understand how the clutch works WHILE driving, not a complex rational model. The mechanism is a lot more complex but this is the basic idea. And as a mechanic i KNOW he has the correct plate spinning since the flywheel is in constant motion. Oh did i use a big word? Sorry, daddy's car probably has an automatic, huh? STFU Trolls.
thank you so much..... i have learned so much from you. do you have an more videos like this is how a manual window rolls down or this is how to screw the gas cap on... I dont know why these idiots are being so critical. Im thinking if i watch a few more videos from you i can get a job at pep boys.
si lo pones asi, nadie verá el porque se desgastan las pastas del mismo, inche raza como acostumbra esperar semaforos en primera y con el pedal a fondo, por suerte a mi me explicaron lo del desgaste y me enseñaron a esperar en neutral ...
@alanquarendon Sure I will dumb this down for you so that you can understand it.... "This is not how the fuck a clutch works"! Did you understand that, because I don't think I could really dumb it down much more for ya?
@1DEVjj People don't want to know what a pressure plate is and they don't need to know what a gearbox does. This is a basic animation that EVERYONE can get a grip on. Petrol Head.
@alanquarendon Snowman.....this is the essence of how a clutch works one constantly rotating plate drives a non rotating plate when engaged......simples ;)
I'm just learning how to drive a stick shift because I need to not because I want to.... but to tell you the truth as simple this video is, its exactly what I was looking for. I have been trying to figure out how a clutch works and now I do. thanks
You people have too many high standards. This is only a simple demonstration for the idiots like me who don't know anything about manuals. If you want a more descriptive video, there's always the related videos section to the right.
wouldn't the clutch pedal be above the crank shaft?.....unless the transmission is in the backseat on this model......in your animation, looks like the crank shaft goes right through the driver's crotch....OUCH!
It's not very descriptive but a pretty good model for people wanting to know the basics of a clutch. It doesn't have all the parts but it's explains it in lay-mans terms.
The pressure pad is bolted to the flywheel in which holds the clutch disk inbetween. When you push on the clutch pedal the clutch disk moves away from the flywheel.
You don't have 4 clutch disks near each wheel! Thats just stupid!
Este video sólo te sirve si, 1: estás empezando a entender el funcionamiento de lo más básico de los motores y 2: si estamos hablando de un embrague bidisco, ya que el monodisco es un funcionamiento diferente y en el multidisco es parecido pero no es exacto.
@lilblckboy101 No, both discs should be spinning, the wheels are turning (exept if you're not moving), and the disc of the engine is spinning faster than the disc from the wheels and it makes the wheels turn faster when it comes in contact.
Well, i DON'T know why you're getting bagged about this clip. I KNOW it's not accurate, i know how clutches really work, but it was perfect for me to explain to a friend why he shouldn't ride the clutch so much, he was wearing it out and had NO idea about the clutch and this helped him to understand why his foot was causing so much wear, So thanks.
i also like the landing video at melbourne airport im living on the otherside of the world and saw my house in coburg lol cool stuff my son's in melbourne he'll be going for his license next month how much are u charging for a lesson
Driving Lessons are $42 for 45 minutes. I work for Excel Drive in Melbourne. 1300 856 857. I do manual but we have lots of instructors. Give the drive school a call
The engine rotates. That clutch plate rotates and rubs against the other plate which is attached to the wheels. The wheels start to rotate until the two plates are locked together and the engine is totally driving the wheels. When you stop, you need to separate the two plates so that the engine is no longer driving the wheels. Punching the clutch pedal to the floor disconnects the two plates. Alan
So basicly is easier to hold the gas to around 2k rpm, and let the clutch out smoothly and it won't stall at all like that correct... and why is it that if you let out the clutch to soon it might stall... It's still connected with the engine with gas... i don't understand that
The gas is irrelevant. Letting the clutch out smoothly is irrelevant.
It's not the way you lift the clutch... it's the way you stop lifting it. The two plates must rub together for a while. When the wheels are rotating, the clutch can then be left alone.
This is how learners should perceive the clutch. This is the only (clutch) animation I know on the whole worldwide web. Do you know of any others? Cheers
