I remember when my cat used to do that.

He actually still does, yeah its in a deep sleep and all but if they continue to that by letting you touch them. Its a sign of trust, and they welcome human contact and affection. Depends how they're raised and treated as babies.

You're very lucky to have a kitten like that.

Actually kittens really do sleep like that, no drugs necessary. They need to sleep at least 16 hours a day and they do so in "catnaps", Kittens aren't yet accustomed to regular napping and will just drop off anywhere dead to the world. The only time I could ever deflea my kitten was in this state, otherwise he'd run for it.
