Look for yourself at the base prices of the models used. the mazda and ford both run in the 23k range but the honda runs at around 28k.... How about a less price biased review or add some options to the other cars to make a more even review. Maybe add the sport tuned suspension on the fusion and some interior options to the mazda 6
One thing I don't understand about the Fusion. Manual Transmission is considered standard equipment. So why is it so rare? And why can't you get a manual transmission with the V6 engines? And one more thing; I've also noticed that when I check thu car ads and enter manual transmission into the search engine, I see Fusions with photos of automatic shifters. Don't they even know what a manual transmission is anymore?

Amen to that! I don't claim to own an American car. It's actually built in Mexico. These days; Toyota is probably more American than any of the American brands. And yes, Toyota was unfairly treated by the government. But that's because of the GM takeover, having nothing to do with Ford. I'm also aware that many Honda's are built in America.

I was at the office of a car rental company in Ireland recently and an American tourist had returned a Ford Mondeo and he expressed his disappointment at not being able to buy it in America.

Let's see, the Fusion has a higher statistical reliability rating, has better build quality than the Accord (the 2010 Accord is known to develop squeeks quickly), is a TRUE midsize unlike the bloated Accord, and looks better than the Accord. That wasn't a fair test! You can't compare a baseline Fusion SE with a top of the line Accord EX-L, a Fusion SEL would have been more appropriate. With a baseline model you're bound to run into some cheapness...

Honda accord, That is one really nice honda for a sedan, the outside is plain. but wow the inside looks amazing, I never thought they were that nice inside.
The Mazada has the sinister look from the outside which I still cant get over, Its awsome, inside is pretty well made also.

For an alternate comparision involving a whole team of reviewers from different organizations as well as an average college educated American family you should check out "The $25,000 Family Sedan Shootout". They do a much better comparison with more convicing results. It involved 8 sedans rather than just 3. All of the above are included.

Fusion has by far the shortest wheelbase and is by far the shortest. I don't think a lot of fat Americans can fit inside a Fusion. Hence why Accord has been having so much sales in the US.

i test drove all three of these vehicles .the fusion mazda and accord were greatcontrols of the honda was a bit confusing the fusion was a bit boring on the inside due to it being a base model the mazda 6 was great interior wise and also seemed to have better acceleration and the whole stance of the car reminded me of the rx8 iam definately getting the mazda 6 soon anyone else bought it let me know what you think ...
This review is all wrong. My mom has a 2010 ford fusion sel 4 cyl. and it's suspension isn't soft. I've driven it myself and it handles sporty and rides firmly. I say it's similar to the accord and the fusion's frame is the same as the mazda 6

@execdyke91 The Mondeo is made by Ford and is sold in Europe, Australia, China but for some reason Ford doesn't sell it in America. I was at the office of a car rental company in Ireland recently and an American tourist had returned a Ford Mondeo and he expressed his disappointment at not being able to buy it in America.

Not to mention the fact that both the Mazda and the Ford outweigh it by 20lbs in the written version of this review.

Let's see, the Fusion has a higher statistical reliability rating, has better build quality than the Accord (the 2010 Accord is known to develop squeeks quickly), is a TRUE midsize unlike the bloated Accord, and looks better than the Accord. The Accord has a slightly better V6...that's it. I've always been a Honda/Toyota guy, but sorry, the 2010 Fusion is easily the best mid-sized sedan that isn't a luxury badge. No contest. The Mazda6 is nice enough but the old ones were better designs.

That wasn't a fair test! You can't compare a baseline Fusion SE with a top of the line Accord EX-L, a Fusion SEL would have been more appropriate. With a baseline model you're bound to run into some cheapness...

The Ford Fusion Hybrid won Motor Trend's award, not the standard Fusion, and it won mainly for the fact that Ford offered a full-sized hybrid cheaper than with Toyota, but if it weren't for Toyota's hybrid technology, which Ford copied and needed permission from Toyota to use its patent, there probably wouldn't be a Ford hybrid yet. Essentially that current Fusion is a seven year old Mazda design, that in no longer used by Mazda, and which in today's market, is quite old.

In fact, Toyota was sued by the inventors of the technology for patent infringement but later came to an "agreement."
And this isn't the first hybrid motor that Ford has put out either. It may be the first hybrid sedan, but not their first hybrid. They do also own Mercury and Lincoln.

Honda accord, That is one really nice honda for a sedan, the outside is plain. but wow the inside looks amazing, I never thought they were that nice inside.
The Mazada has the sinister look from the outside which I still cant get over, Its awsome, inside is pretty well made also.
The ford, It can hang, out side is pretty a nice style to it. inside could still be use more leather meterials.
but all are great vehicles.

For an alternate comparision involving a whole team of reviewers from different organizations as well as an average college educated American family you should check out "The $25,000 Family Sedan Shootout". They do a much better comparison with more convicing results. It involved 8 sedans rather than just 3. All of the above are included.

Fusion has by far the shortest wheelbase and is by far the shortest. I don't think a lot of fat Americans can fit inside a Fusion. Hence why Accord has been having so much sales in the US.

Ford Fusion V4 HP 175, 22 City/31 highway. New Sonata V4 HP 200, MPG 22 City/35 highway. LOL The Hyundai Sonata has more power, and its even more fuel efficient. Hahahaha Hyundai hater, and lets wait for the Turbo charged Sonata which will blow the ass of any V6 Fusion. Ford=100 years of history=not much better than young Hyundai motors. ;)

i test drove all three of these vehicles .the fusion mazda and accord were greatcontrols of the honda was a bit confusing the fusion was a bit boring on the inside due to it being a base model the mazda 6 was great interior wise and also seemed to have better acceleration and the whole stance of the car reminded me of the rx8 iam definately getting the mazda 6 soon anyone else bought it let me know what you think ...

This review is all wrong. My mom has a 2010 ford fusion sel 4 cyl. and it's suspension isn't soft. I've driven it myself and it handles sporty and rides firmly. I say it's similar to the accord and the fusion's frame is the same as the mazda 6
