In the U.S., we got the emasculated version of Revolver, lacking Dr. Robert, I'm Only Sleeping, and "And Your Bird Can Sing", which make this, the UK version, the creme de la creme of Beatles albums, putting Sergeant Pepper's in the shade.

(And I'm a Sergeant Pepper fan.)

It wasn't until Sgt. Pepper that EMI (or Capitol, their subsidiary) stopped messing with the UK versions.

On the other hand, we Yanks got "Meet The Beatles", which omitted cover songs found on the UK releases Please, Please Me and (I think) Hard Day's Night, and was a better album for it.
