well better luck next time, brothers of the shovel.. have to say try there again because you never know, you know what they say? Gold is where you find it....
Gold is often found with or around copper deposits, next time look for exposed bedrock and try around there...
i did some panning in the siskiyou national forest in s. oregon back in '72 when gold was still 35 dollars/oz in an area that had beeen worked pretty hard in the 30's. every panfull had some small flakes. I met an oldtimer in the kalmiopsis wilderness which is about two days hike into the siskiyous
and he' showed me a half a mason jar full of gold that they had sluiced out of the creek next to his cabin. i don't think you can mine in the kalmiopsis any more but there's plenty of gold still in there.
No effort, no reward. Nice set up! Maybe there just wasn't much in that area. The riffles looked ok.. maybe water flow was too swift? I love home made gear. Your commentary is absolutely hilarious man! Nice job, hope ya get some more color next time.
If its the copper creek by salem then yeah, from the bottom of lane county and up you really wont have much luck finding gold unless you goto eastern oregon or douglas county to the board of cali. check out poverty flatsin myrtle creek. view one of my videos and visit my oregon gold hunters site in the description.

loss of prime is due to more then likely a bad foot valve or you have a fitting near the pump that isn't tight.

Great videos. Actually, some of the gold is in the good times you get to have, doing this with your Dad.
