nice techniques, gonna try this in class next time i chi sao. thanks for sharing. i also liked the way you explained the line in the chum kiu form while your shifting.almost sound identical to my sifu which is what i look for (similarity) in wing chun video's. thanks again, gracefully bow in respect....2nd yr student
Great video! That particular move at the end I like to do as well. One of the counters I found to it if you get pulled in like that if you are on the receiving end is to to lift the elbow straight up and place your hand on the head like a triangle. If you get pulled in, you have a straight elbow attack and some sort of defense against those hooks you were doing with the left hand.
@bknives im really not a fan of his at all. way too cocky if u ask me. and he thinks too much about how "it was to be done this way" instead of how it happens reflexively
i disagree with the comment made at 2:01 i believe that block takes too much body strength, and that not only is it incorrect, as well as it being the only block, the two blocks I see, or would do is stepping into the person, or, using my right hand to bring to block the left side of my face. Am i not seeing something in the future? My father trains me, he studied under one of GM Yip Man's students
@Tempclanleader The power for that "block" as you call it, comes from the hip, which has more mass and force than the arm, and would deflect the force in the most efficient way possible. One has only to keep ones structure tight and use the hip to turn, in accordance with the principles laid out in the first two forms and there would be little to no body strength used. If you brought your hand to your face you would get covered. And everybody's teacher studied under a student of Yip Man
@Tempclanleader ya agreed. there are also elbow wrap blocks. not really a wing tsun move but big in close range shaolin. there is NEVER only one way to counter. there are always LOTS of way to counter. and i train under Shi Yan Xin. 34th gen disciple of the shaolin
Good video, and interesting point on the one movement, but try not to water down your W.C. What I mean is. If you're doing chi sao don't call it lop sao like in part one video, and if you didn't catch it watch your own video you'll see it. otherwise good....
great video mate! i've been training for several years and picked up some new thoughts from your video.

@fievel3782 I've seen that move you describe, some of the guys I train with do it and it's quite effective, definitely one for the arsenal!

Your posture is equivalent to the hunchback of notre dame. In fact, next to you, the hunchback of notre dame looks like Bruce Lee.
