  • I was a big McDyess fan back in the day. He was an exciting player.

  • Its a shame

  • pre-knee injury Mcdyess was a beast, him and Grant Hill got screwed out of great NBA careers because of injuries.

  • Kemp -> McDyess -> Amare -> Griffin

  • which nba game is this song on?

  • @KyplayaZ4lyfe this is ballin boy no good

  • @MegaDobar yeah i was curious which nba game this song was on cause i remember it being on one.

  • before the today's wannabes uh *cough^ Griffin%$ cough^ Lebron and co. there was great players like Kemp and Mcdyess dunking all over the place!

  • dunk like shawn kemp. block like mutombo.

    fuk!

  • awesome mix. music is horrible though.

  • He was Amare before Amare.

  • The blocks are just as good as the dunks, he probably could have caught some of them! Nice vid, thx

  • McDyess we love you, I hate to hear you retired, San Antonio is blessed to have had you.

  • @flamingaxe791 yeah that's true..he's one pf the prototype of modern power forwards :)))

  • McDyess played his last NBA game yesterday against the Grizzlies. He had a great career.

  • He would have been as KG if he would have stayed healthy.

  • blake griffin?

  • I forgot how good he was

  • He's currently with the league-leading Spurs. I hope they win it all because I'd like to see McDyess get a ring. The man deserves one IMO.

  • sure fire hof''er if not 4 injures was a monster

  • this dude was like blake griffin athletic... except with better shot blockin

  • I use to love playing with Denver on the Dreamcast NBA2K (thats how far back i'm taking it), just so i can be McDyess, his dunks on that game we're mental! My friend use to get vex...it was "Oh, McDyess" all day long....BEAST!

  • the block at 1:31 is insane

  • shit music

  • one jersey they absolutely must resurrect is the retro black suns jersey....strait fiyyaa

  • thats wicked!!!! haha dang mcdyess awesome!!! Go Spurs!!!!

  • really hated it for mcdyess....I always knew he had an explosive game before his knee, but watching this....just wow 0_0;;;

since his injury, he's developed a lethal midrange game, smh...what could have been....

btw, blake griffin can't even sniff his jock, the only reason why he's getting all this pub is because all the other rookies suck balls

  • Please stop talking about Griffin! Griffin compare with Kemp, McDyess??!Are You Joke? or are you got 15years old?!?!

Griffin havent 50% dynamic of Kemp, or Antonio.

  • why wasn't he selected to the slam dunk competition

  • Holy wow!!!! Am i gglad he's a Spur now..would be nice if he were a Spur and still had these skills...Not saying he doesn't but when your knees go...anyway i like him good "team" player..Go Spurs Go!!!!!!

  • McDyess blew his knee when he was with the knicks. 2002. He was lethal in Denver. Such a product of Alabama.

  • lmao @ those blocks.

  • he was a fucking beast, god damn that knee injury.... he will be leaving the nba at the end of this season, though

  • @alejovj7 No sir, He's coming back for another season since he's having so much fun this season. He said so himself

  • NBA 2003 all day! lol

  • So What I get from this is that Blake Griffin is a knee injury away from being a scrub...

    Yeah What I though

  • @Rodney21a Pretty much. Though I think he's gotten over it better than Greg Oden or Andrew Bynum who always suffer every year from EXPLODING KNEES.

  • Video game dunks!

  • nice to see he is still in the league producing!!

  • daaaaam who was that, that got fucked in the face in 1:41?

  • @pr3ttyxr1cky Avery Johnson.

  • 2:14 - 2:16 + the bench in the background

  • he plays like blake griffin when he was in his prime...always playing above the rim..

  • @giankarlo31 u mean blake griffin plays like him

  • SAM heil

winning it for you this year, Dice

    gsg!

  • yo how and when did he get injured? i feel like i gotta know this man better after this video haha

  • What's the name of this song

  • @BestlikeMike it's Ballin' Boy by No Good.

    dope song.

  • Blake Griffin reminds me too much of this man

  • shawn kemp clone

  • mydyess was a beast

  • 42" vert

  • @emmanuelb 47" one step

  • @emmanuelb A long time ago I read that he had a 47 inch vertical, which is really a lot, especially for a bigman. I think it was written in a SLAM article, but I could be wrong.

  • holy shit! this is the first time i've seen mcdyess highlights pre-injury. what a beast! this video just makes me sad

  • You Cant Call him a bust because he was good in his prime his injury just made him lose his vertical..

  • @dwn2kill3 truth is he's not half bad right now either.

  • Maaan, he was like Shawn Kemp in his prime. Simply killa!

  • @PalomoLv More like Amare Staudimire with great defense.

  • I dunno but I think Mcdyess is the best player in the nba whoever received an alley oop...Ever! real master of the craft This guy does not know what a lay-up is. which is a good thing though

  • damn I miss mcdyess.he was a powerhouse! oldschool 90s basketball was the best ever.

  • Antonio McDyess was never the same player after KG dunked on him violently!

  • Amare'esque with some Shawn Kemp power dunks and flailing limbs lol. Became the consumate pro after realizing he couldn't do the things he once could. Future HOF'er if he kept up that pace before the injury.

  • Duncan said in his prime, the only one who could completely shut him down was Antonio Mcdyess.

  • He was an airplane with two legs. Amazing shot-blocker and dunker at 3 feet up on the floor, unfortunately only a great tecnique remains to him.

  • When healthy, he was like Amare Stoudemire with better defense and rebounding!

  • MCDYESS was LEBRON before LEBRON was LEBRON. This guy was a SUPERSTAR hadnt not been for injuries & silly management decisions in terms of teams being built around him.

  • @height2 touche

  • he was a more skilled, faster, more athletic version of K-mart. and a better rebounder than him

  • Denver always seem to have had badasses such as McDyess, how about LaPhonso Ellis, Robert Pack, Chris Jackson aka Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, Mutumbo, Jalen Rose (who was ok to me) Rodney Rogers etc. whom all could have had stellar careers had it not been for injuries or whatever.....poor Rodney is severly paralized. Injuries......sucks

  • It seems that a lot of people, especially the post-80-ies generation doesn´t know what a terrific player Dice once was. But I got to admit he is a very different player from his pre-injury days.

Still a savy vet though and one of those NBA guys who I would be very happy for if he would get a ring. I really hoped that would happen for him when he came to Detroit ...

  • @fraculjo you're right a lot of people don't know who dominate he was. a true 20-10 guy. because of his injuries he had to change his game when he went to detroit. and he helped us to the finals, almost got the victory too (damn you sheed). i think joe d made him mad by trading him. and why he didn't re-sign with detroit this past year.

  • 4 all those, with did not know........lol

  • Mcdyess had a very high vertical for his height. It was around 43 at 6'10" that's amazing. they had to get a bigger vertical machine for him because he could jump over it easy. Back in the day before his knee injury he could grab the top of the back board.

  • dat's him?? can't believe it

  • yeah hehe he does look like amare now. amare to the spurs??

  • didnt know he was this good

  • McDyess is (was) one of those general badasses that were a bit under the radar for popularity. Once I made a team on a bball game for PS2 out of these types of players. Center was Cliff Robinson, PF McDyess, SF Luke Walton (a total geek but i maxed his stats and made his player wear goggles, headband and every pad and band available, sort of a payback for my annoyance with Bill Walton), SG Ron Artest because he would fight people, and PG .... i can't remember. ANyway, McDyess was sweet.

  • such a different player now. I don't even see him dunk or block shots anymore. it's ashame about the knee.

  • mcdyess is so sick, he reminds of kenyon martin before he got injured

  • oh sht, nice dunk at 2:19 .

  • This knee problem and the way he dunks reminds me of a certain Suns' player.

  • @Gold753 Except theres one difference, old Dyess was a way better defender.

  • @Gold753 Who j rich? haha jst kidding yeah before his injury he was the shit

  • @Gold753 Are you talking about grant hilll

  • @moherboss7

No, I was mentioning the great Brian Scalabrine.

  • @Gold753 DICE best poward forward of nba ! BIG UP Mc....

  • @Supernormal31

lol thats an insult to the Big Fundamental

  • Holy shit.

Is this the same McDyess? Daaamn.

Can't believe he was ever even young.

  • I remember him from his Nuggets days. Although he didn´t want to be on those 30 win teams (I don´t blame him), he was incredible and could get 20 to 25 points with 10 rebounds nightly

  • Can't stand to watch these videos people make when they put this bullshit rap in the background.

  • what a great player, such a shame about his knee

  • "let your girl watch as I peepee"

    LMAO

  • I remember that +half court alley up with Kidd.. "die überflieger.."

  • Blake Griffin? patella injury too. i hope not.

  • This guy was a beast back in the day. Would climb and get the ball from anywhere and throw it down.He would have been a perrenial all star no doubt. All that and a class act all the way, im a Piston fan but hope the Spurs win it this year to get Dyess a ring.GO SPURS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he was amazing, too bad he had a knee injury..

  • man, i never realized how sick Dyess was... i didnt watch NBA back then

  • My favorite player in the NBA right now. Hope he wins a championship with the Spurs this year.

  • tell me that does not look exactly like lebron james at the end of the video from 3:01 to about 3:04, maybe its because of the quality

  • NBA live 2003 track! lol nice mix

  • god he was a beast. he he wouldnt of blew out his knees he would be a big time all star:((

  • hard to believe thats him

  • he had a 24 inch vertical and a 47 inch vertical wit 1 step

  • agreed...welcome to San Antonio McDyess!!!

  • Antonio, Welcome to San Antonio!!! GO SPURS GO

  • nobody will be able to stop the Spurs this upcoming season, Richard Jefferson, Dejuan Blair, and now Antonio McDyess. who can stop them?

  • Go Spurs.. Welcome Jefferson McDyess and the others!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Antonio, Welcome to San Antonio!!!

Bring some energy to this team.

  • This is the spurs mantra; get guys who are a little bit past their prime but have matured and play with loads of experience (especially in the playoffs). A role player doesn't have to be the greatest athlete, just play smart and know the importance of your role and do as your told. McDyess fits the bill perfectly.

  • Way to go Detroit for not re-signing him.

  • The Spurs just don't fuck up!

  • spurs are going to sign mcdyess...

  • Spurs got him.

  • Go to the Spurs McDyess!!!

  • "done their homework"...4 NBA championships don't come by accident. Even when they make "stupid" moves....they work out. I remember when we selected Manu at 57 and Tony Parker at 28. I was SCREAMING at the TV. WTF are we doing??? See how everything works out? Don't ever question the Spurs front office....

  • Do please explain to me how Michael Finley was a bust. He was a good role player on the 07 championship team. This is the best run franchise in the business. Stop laying your dumb nonsense here, stupid quack.

  • I remember we he was younger playing for denver. He use to give the spurs fits, espcialy Sean and David we had no answer for him. Welcome and get ready to accept your ring

  • you know hes been around awhile when they show him duncin over Terry Cummings lol. Well still take you all day. GO SPURS GO!!!!!!!

  • lol thats not terry my bad makes me feel better

  • uhhh they never got rid of anyone.. we lost all them good players for more money! like hido, jackson. the only 2 good players that we let go, the one we got rid or was leandro barbosa, we had him but traded him and luis scola. thats it

  • yeah rj sucks, dont ever question the spurs

  • they aint cheap at all, the spurs organization is really smart and kno how to spend there cash.. but its gonna be hard to get ginobili next year

  • cheap but still won 2 more titles in 2005 and 2007. the spurs organization is just smart. not stupid or cheap

  • they should have won more than that they would have if they werent so cheap they depend on duncan and manu and parker to much now they finally got duncan some help for this year but it may be to late cause he is old now.

  • Jayfey you calling the sprus cheap? that crazy talk. How do you think so many title conternders fade away. The sprus are a great orginaztion cause they can find a needle in a haystack. Even if they are cheap we brought in guys who helped contrubted to our championhip. Brent Barry,Michel Finley,Bruce Bowen, and many more. There something called luxury tax. YOu just cant go over it whenever you want.

  • thats the point we had players help us win the championship and we got rid of them cause we didnt wanna pay them more like stephen jacksonspurs dont even come close to going over the tax, they take players nobody wants and players that are old or have something wrong with them like mcdyess blown out knee.

  • Jayfey Stephon Jackson left the spurs by chocie get your info right. As the same to Hedo. Who could of predict the type of player Scola would turn to. Dont blame the spurs for being cheap. They brough San Antonio 4 championship. All the good player's who left the spurs werent predict to turn into the all star they did. I agree we should of won more championship but it not like we got killed. Every time we lost a playoff round with the big three it was luck for the other team.

  • i know he left by choice but he left cause the spurs were to cheap to give him more money and afterall all he did was help them win a championship by hitting clutch 3 pointers late in the game,

  • Stop calling them cheap. Look if we kept Stephon Jakson manu would of got less min. With Stephon jakson we wouldnt of won 2 more championhsips. Plus you just dont sign someone million of dollars just for hitting a few years. Also stephon Jakson had an unspurs attitude. Manu emeraged a much better player than Stephon jakson was. So i'll agree with you maybe there cheap. Sotp complaing though. It not like we could bring in a fcking all star so stop complaing.

  • Stephen Jackson Score 20 Pts in 40 minutes, thats not good

  • i seen him score 49 points and then 48 points back to back, whats not good about that, spurs were idiots for letting him go.

  • Well i just see that he score 20 Pts in 40 minutes, mediocre, Tony Parker score 22Pts in 33 minutes

Ginobili score 16Pts in 25minutes and he was injury ... thats efficience

He is and idiot for let the spurs, he finish acepting less money that the spurs offer

  • He's on San Antonio right now

  • calling someone a quack is not a racial slur you fucking idiot. Good God you really are dumb as dirt aren't you? Who cares what he did in 08 and 09, they won a ring with him in 07 you worthless rawhide. And Jackson is not a big man and he is not worth what it would have taken to keep him. If spurs are as incompetent as you say, then how did they get RJ (who is better and younger than Stephen Jackson) for almost nothing. Can't answer? No because you know you are wrong dipshit.

  • i didn't notice you mentioning your name and address fuckface, like i'm going to say where I live to an internet psycho with a mancrush on Stephen Jackson, who by the way has never had a 50 point game in his entire career. But he was able to rack up an incredible 30 game suspension for fighting detroit fans. I do give him props for that.

  • what are you 12 years old, stop picking fights on the internet asshole

  • im not picking fight you started with me you jerk, look at you acting all tough starting crap over the net cause you cant do it in person and you prove that by not giving your address you chickenshit.

  • i wasnt the one starting crap with anyone on here you left a comment to me first,i just responded to you, jackson had 49 and 48 point games you retard after the spurs left him he was scoring over 40 points in many games the next season,i will gladly give u my address just to get ur name and address but i dont see the point if ur to chickenshit to give me urs what makes me think ur gonna come see me.

  • you are one dumb piece of shit

  • put up or shutup pussy.

  • jayfey and drunkenirish, jackson helped the spurs win it all in 2003, then he left for more cash to the pacers... get ur facts straight!

  • he left for more cash to the Hawks, why don't you get yours straight?

  • nj for 1 year, sa for 2, atl for 1, indi for 3, and gs now goin on 4, u still way off by sayin he helped win in 2007 say. dumb ass

  • Could've been a similar player to Shawn Kemp, Maybe better.

He was still good after his knee gave in!!!

  • Alabama King to Lakers

  • does he still play.....if he does wat team? on games it says he plays for detroit

  • do u watch NBA?

  • ya...i just dont know if he plays

  • he plays on the pistons, if u watched the playoffs this year, he was the starting PF for the pistons

  • i didnt know...i didnt see any of their games because i had baseball games those nights...sheed is better

  • sheed played center

  • i no...but sheed is better power forward then him....if he played pf

  • song?

  • ballin boys

  • Jesus christ no onder he messed up his knee... did he ever not dunk...how bout a layup or a jumpshot....just bullshittin

  • 0_0...DID HE JUST REJECT SHAQ at 1:40....this dude is very underrated

  • Antonio McDyess in his prime, and before all his leg injuries was a beast. Man had big time hops for a guy 6 ft 10 inches, 250 lbs.

  • His blocks were PURE EVIL.

  • He was new Shawn Kemp before knee injure

  • true that

  • puttana che forte che era!

  • holy shit, i forgot he was that good.

  • he still got game though

  • He could have been a Hall of Famer if it wasn't for the knee.

  • LOL, lets not get carried away.

  • man becuz im relativly a new fan to the game i never knew he was this good!

  • Dyess Dyess baby!!! Made going to McNichols bearable...

  • ass yu can see. he blocked the ball.

and the ball went flyin on the other side of the court.

dyess was a beast bakk then.

  • oh another quick comment...I love his double hand tomahawk..its glorious! and good clips..showing his def and off skills
