my fiance and I are saving up for one; we just got in contact with a breeder, and it'll probably be a year or two before we're ready, but we're getting there <3 ^^-

As these Birds are heavily endangered every little one born in a cage prevents the ones in the the brazilian rainforest from being caught. Maybe the breeding programme gets so many Birds to bring some of them back were they belong .

I must admit that I love these birds.

They are but they are also very expensive. They cost $8,000-$12,000 handfed :( would love to own one myself

Cute babies! How do you acquire your breeding pairs? I've heard hyacinths are tricky to breed in captivity. Keep up the good work, hopefully someday these majestic bird will no longer be on the endangered list.=)

These babies are beautiful. I work with Hys all day long... they are the most gentle of the entire macaw species! So docile.

Hey can six months be a long time or what?? They are wonderful birds enjoy, enjoy. And of course be patient he will grow up eventually. The longer he is being weaned the better for him.

Cute, Ive always wanted a Hyacinth Macaw but in England there about £20,000! Because there endangered and almost impossible to come by in England. Your so lucky, good luck with your babies.
