Have another read of Exodus chapters 7 through 12. It's one of the most appalling stories in literature. God hardens Pharaoh's heart repeatedly, then brings these horrible plagues, then kills the eldest son of EVERY Egyptian household and of their slaves, their prisoners, even their livestock, and all so that he can show off his magical powers. There was not one home without a death. Have you ever lost a child? I have. With a god like that, who needs enemies?
